Ladies,

Hoping you can help me out, I’m totally panicking.

I had positive pregnancy tests (5 of them!) over the past 5 days, 1 clear blue and 3 clear blue digital, totally thrilled to be pregnant, have celebrated with husband etc.

Have had heightened sense of smell, really sore/massive boobs so haven’t been too worried.

I am tracking BBT, and this morning my temperature had dropped a bit, I am a natural worrier and I know this is a sign of miscarriage so got up and did another test, just to see the words again...

And it was negative... on a clear blue digital.

It was FMU (first morning urine) but was very light (have been trying to drink lots to avoid dehydration so could it have been too diluted to have picked the hcg up?

I am totally freaking out. Please help.

How far along are you?

Unfortunately this happened to me to me. It was a miscarriage. I started bleeding a couple of days later. I spoke to epau who said unless I was in lots of pain, or the bleeding smelt I didn't need to go in, just take another test in a week.

It's an awful thing to go through, but ultimately nothing anyone can do.

Having said that, it's possible that if you are really early on that your urine isn't strong enough, but with 4 positive digitals, I think that's unlikely.

Test again in a couple of hours. I'm really sorry to say though that even with dilute wee you would expect it to be positive if it was positive 5 days ago.

Chemical pregnancies (where you get a positive test but then it turns negative because the pregnancy hasn't taken) are very very common I'm afraid. I had two two cycles in a row. That's the trouble with testing early; in the past everyone was blissfully unaware that they had had a chemical because by the time women used to test the chemical would have been and gone.

Sorry. I know it's disappointing.

Hi,

I’m 19dpo or 6 days late for period so very early days.

So sorry to hear of your experience

If your urine was diluted it will cause a negative, especially on CBD. How much lower was your temp?

GFLHope · 01/06/2018 06:44

My temperatures have been around 36.3 and this morning it was 35.98

The app didn’t come up with any message of concern.

I am only a week late for my period, so very early days.

I have my fingers firmly crossed for you 🤞🏻

Fingers crossed here too...I am 5+2 and I feel your anxiety!! I am sure it is just dilute urine...Thanks

Unfortunately it was a miscarriage, did a FRER and only got the faintest of lines which confirmed my worse fears. I started bleeding last night and heavily this morning so it’s definitely all over

I'm so sorry GFLHope. If it helps, you're more fertile after a mc and if you get pregnant you're more likely to carry to term. It took me 11 months for my first bfp, ended in mc, just 3 months fir this one, now 11 weeks. Take some time to process xxx

INeedNewShoes · 02/06/2018 12:59

I'm really sorry GFL

Everyone is different but it really helped me to think of such early losses as chemical pregnancies rather than a 'miscarriage'. It is so so common for implantation to start and give a positive test and then disappear. If we didn't test so early we'd likely never know. I know those words won't give much comfort but I found it much easier to move on from my chemical pregnancies than my miscarriage which was a much more established pregnancy.

yellowsnail · 02/06/2018 13:06

So sorry for your loss Thanks

Celebelly · 02/06/2018 13:50

Sorry for your loss. It's horrible, even when it's so early. Take care of yourself x

sachabloom · 02/06/2018 20:44

So sorry @GFLHope xxxx

I am also so sorry..I hope you have some good support in real life, but do keep checking out threads on here as they can be a great source of support. Thinking of you..Thanks

StargazyDrifter · 03/06/2018 17:04

Very sorry to read this. A tough thing to go through and probably feels disproportionately upsetting, but do take care of yourself, it's by no means a small thing. I had something similar last month, a few positive tests and then a negative, with heavy bleeding. Sat through a serious meeting at work thinking only of what might have been. It was dreadful, took a good few days to get out of the slump. Someone silly in real life said it was all all too early to even get upset about. People on here were kind; a few said they'd got pregnant straight after a chemical pregnancy, which I thought was nice for them but sort of irrelevant for me. And this cycle exactly that happened to me, I'm almost 5w. I've no idea if this is scientifically backed in any way, but there's definitely something to that! Or at least something to think about. Take care and best of luck soon as you're ready again!x
