Hi
I am 24+4 & belly has suddenly popped & I have expanded in the thigh & butt area.
I had been wearing a size up but these r now getting a bit tight. I tried on some maternity jeans & leggings today & I am finding the legs fit but the bump area is massive & sagging everywhere. Is anyone else having this issue?
I'm also not a dress wearer never have bn & find maternity clothes very limited beyond dresses so if you know of anywhere good plz let me know?
Oh 1 last question where is the best place to buy the pregnancy staple that is leggings?
Thanks

I've got ASDA leggings 2 for £12 and they're pretty decent. I think they will be done in after 1 pregnancy though (I'm 15 weeks and have been wearing them for 2 already) but as I am NEVER DOING PREGNANCY AGAIN that's fine for me.

I've heard good things about JoJo leggings too but they're £22 a pair so decided to go cheap and even if I buy 2 packs of ASDA to last me to the end I'm huge already that's fine.

I have Lidl leggings, which were a bit baggy to begin with but certainly aren't anymore but very comfy! Have you tried looking at under belly jeans?

There is no best place as it depends on your body shape, bump size and leg length.

I have some Gap leggings which I brought to do exercise in. They are advertised as mid-calf length but come under my knees. I had to start wearing them at 14 weeks as my normal exercise bottoms dug into the bottom of my bump, and while the material is good I have to still pull them up 11 weeks later.

I have the cheap George from Asda leggings. They are ankle length, while the belly and back are loose, their cut means I don't have to keep pulling them up. The material is thin so I doubt they will last more than this pregnancy.

I have JoJo Mama Bebe jeans which I started wearing from 17 weeks. The belly band was extremely loose first but now, while still loose particularly at the back, is OK. I've been warned jean belly bands rarely last more than one pregnancy.

I wear all with long loose tops, some of which are maternity, or under dresses.

I've track suit bottoms that still fit that I wear around the house if I have to wear clothes plus have been given some under bump shorts and skirts. As they are all worn under bump they feel weird as it's lower down on the front than I normally wear clothes.

Only H&M, where I have tights from, and JoJo Mama Bebe seems to have maternity items in stock. The rest of maternity wear I've brought I had to order online and return if the cut is ridiculous for me. I've read some women find their maternity clothes don't fit after 30+ weeks, so I expect over bump stuff to be loose until that point.

Asos have lots of different brands on their site, including their own. I’m only 5”3 1/2 and their own brand stuff was always too big for me but I got on better with the New Look maternity range that they sell. Cheap and cheerful but not amazing quality - I didn’t want to spend lots on mat stuff though. I did buy some lovely thick leggings from M and S but I’ve looked this time and they don’t have them 👎🏻. Best thing to do is order online from places that are free delivery and are easy and free to return to like Asda/Asos etc. May stuff varies soooo much. Good luck. X

Oh and TopShop jeans for me! I could buy the jeans I always buy but just in maternity so that was ace!

I bought a couple of under the bump mat jeans from new look which are really comfy and I have worn from 13 weeks. I am now 21 and a half and finding that the band sometimes rolls down and think I probably could do with a pair of over the bump ones now

ASOS, boohoo, H&M and topshop all have great ranges. New look isn’t bad for tops either, 2 for £12. It’s great nowadays, when I had my first DC 8.5 years ago, shops basically sold 5 maternity items and they were always ghastly.

H n M leggings and tops this time round. I also have some leggings from Seraphine which are comfy.

I’m 19 weeks and haven’t fitted my normal jeans for over a month. I’m 5 ft 9 ins so I usually need longer length.

Jeans - I eventually settled on skinny maternity jeans (long length) from Tesco (online) in size 12 (I’m normally a 10 but the 12 was more comfortable). I also bought slim straight leg maternity jeans from JoJo Maman in size 8 (regular length). JoJo is cut on the large and long side!

Leggings - I am still searching!! Asda pair were returned as both pairs in the pack were faulty (holes in the seams - 1 pair I only spotted after arriving at work, by the time I got home they were also extremely baggy at the knees). Tesco were more suited to later stages of pregnancy, bump section too big. JoJo bump section not big or stretchy enough - they would fit me now but I couldn’t see them lasting long and they were too expensive for just a short time. Next leggings, the calves were so tight the stitching looked stretched! (Evidently I have muscular legs!). New Look I ordered 12 but should’ve bought 10, I will order them soon. I’m also going to try Red Herring maternity and Dorothy Perkins maternity. Currently the leggings I am wearing are size 14 from Primark and they are working perfectly as a short term solution! Smile
