Can anyone recommend a good midrange travel system suitable from birth? The options are endless and so confusing!

I got the Oyster 2 with carrycot and car seat, and love everything about it (ds is 2 and I have had an umbrella stroller for a year which I use on and off but am still using the Oyster as I love it! (But his head is grazing the hood now...)

I got a cybex car seat which was a nightmare to unclog from the chassis, so id try the Oyster or maxicosi car seat if I were you. Mine was about £450 all-in, with free car seat.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks @Happycow! Do you think your DS will soon outgrow the Oyster then? Was wondering if it's possible to get a travel system that will last right from birth to when my DC no longer needs one...I wonder if any are big enough for that?

I think they all vary, but should go until at least 3. But if I'm not going too far I don't need a buggy now and ds is only just 2. I can imagine in 6 months time it will be a rarity that he will use it.

He is fine in the Oyster now (he is about 40th percentile for height) but I imagine another 5cm or so and it will be too small. But that should be a year off!

Tbh, I'd pay more attention to how easy they are to manoeuvre up and down kerb, how big the shopping basket is, how easy they fold down and how easy they are to put in the boot of your car! They will all last you 2 yrs for sure, and then you may well either not need it at all or be happy with a £50 stroller.

Have a look at the mamas and papas flip xt. I don't have one but I've heard good things about it and they often have quite good deals on the bundles (that include car seat etc).

I've just bought the Chicco Urban Plus in Legend Grey and I love it. I can't see why it wouldn't last until baby no longer needs. I guess that all depends on height /weight etc xx
