Wedding invite

I have just received an invite for a friend's wedding. It's 10 days before my due date and not sure if I should go? DH is not invited and I'm just a bit paranoid about going into labour early. My mum was v early with me so I kind of have it in my head that I will be early too.
It's an Indian wedding so will have to wear a sari (I'm not Indian so not used to wearing or tying one!) and there will be spicy food! I am giving birth in London and the wedding is in London too but is still an hour away from the hospital on public transport (40 mins in a car with good traffic). I really don't want to miss out (I feel like I miss out on everything being pregnant!) but I don't think it is the most sensible thing to do... any thoughts?

Personally I would go if I hadn't already had the baby by this point. If you go overdue it could be another 3 weeks before the baby arrives and if you did go into early labour you would have plenty of time to get home and/or to hospital. However only you know what feels right for you, there is no right or wrong answer to this.

Is it a traditional large Indian wedding with hundreds of people? If so, I'd say yes as if you decide to cancel at short notice it won't really affect catering. If it's relatively small with a sit-down meal it's a harder decision and you could only really cancel close to the time if you've actually given birth or are in labour...

Given that the wedding is in London, I'd probably go if I were you (assuming you actually want to go and are feeling well enough on the day). But I'd probably warn the hosts that you might have to cancel at short notice or leave early depending on how things go.

I hope you have someone who can help you with the sari Smile
