Leakage tmi

Sorry if this is tmi but I don't know who else to ask...
Is it normal to have quite a lot of "leakage"?
I know you have more discharge when pregnant but I have noticed a "trickle" of clear liquid mainly when baby moves.
I'm worried it's the amniotic fluid leaking.
Googled it and was told to pee then use a sanitary pad for an hour and see what the liquid is like.
It clear. No smell.
My midwife has told me not to contact her so can't ask her.

Most of the time it's not a LOT but sometimes it can be enough to saturate my undies. I had to change them 3 times on saturday as it was seeping through to my trousers.

Is it normal or should I get it checked.

This is my first pregnancy. I'm 32 weeks.

Why has your midwife told you not to contact her?! I’d call the hospital you are booked it as they will have a triage so be able to speak to you / see you. If you think your waters are leaking they need to see you to test ASAP ... if it is that you’ll need antibiotics for possible infections

Second calling the hospital.
Your midwife is rather odd, can you change.

Kitcat159 · 30/05/2018 14:56

She said that because she only works 2 days a week I shouldn't contact her at all. She said she doesn't want me to be unanswered for days so best not to call/text her at all. If I have any questions to call emergency triage but I don't know if it's an emergency thing.

It does sound like amniotic fluid leak.
Call the triage number on your notes. You do need checking both because of the risk of infection and to make sure you aren't going into labour.

I’d say always call triage for advice even if you don’t rethink it’s an emergency! They will always be more than happy to see you and check everything is plz I’ve been on loads for bleeding and movement even when it’s not an emergency they tell me it’s much better to be seen just in case that one time something minor is an emergency.

Give them a call now. Good luck

It sounds like urine or increased discharge. I had this during my four pregnancies and took myself to hospital to be checked over, in case it was the waters slowly leaking, but it was a mixture of wee and discharge.
They also picked up that I had thrush.
They said if not soaking through thick pads it's not waters.
However as you're worried I suggest you do go and checked over. They will check your cervix is closed and treat you if you have an infection x

This sounds like what I had, I was 36 weeks so didn’t think it was anything really, just thought it was because I was getting closer to my due date. It was my waters and my daughter was born later that day. I’d phone the hospital just to get checked over.

Kitcat159 · 03/06/2018 20:35

Spoke to triage, went in and was monitored and checked over. They said it's just normal pregnancy leakage. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks all!
