Hi All,

I unfortunately suffered a chemical pregnancy in April. My period was due on 13th April and I started my bleed on Monday 16th April for around one week. I usually ovulate on day 11/12 of my cycle.

As we were being referred for blood tests (due to recurrent miscarriage) and had to wait 6 weeks for these, I wasn't tracking my ovulation with OPKs. We weren't trying, but weren't not trying! Anyhow, given my EWCM was extremely noticeable w/c 30th April for the whole week, I'm pretty sure I ovulated at the end of that week.

I felt really off it at work on Tuesday 15th May and did a test when I got home. I got a faint line but it came up straight away. I did a FRER test on Thursday 17th May with FMU and the line was darker. I then did another test on the evening of Friday 18th May and the test line was really dark. I did a clearblue test on Saturday 19th May in the morning and it said 2-3 weeks.

I made a doctors appointment on Monday 20th May and due to previous miscarriages, was prescribed progesterone suppositories and sent for a HCG blood test. My result came back as 991 which the doctor said was a low positive. I emailed my consultant at the hospital and he telephoned me to say there was nothing wrong with that HCG reading. He advise I also take low dose aspirin as a precaution (one of the tests I was due to have was for sticky blood). He said he would do an early scan for me and the EPU called me last wednesday morning to arrange this. They also asked me to have my bloods repeated and the Wednesday HCG reading was 2351 so had more than doubled from the Monday.

I did another Clearblue test on Saturday just gone and it said 3+ weeks.

I went to the EPU yesterday for an internal scan and I was measuring 5 weeks and 1 day. They are dating me from my chemical pregnancy bleed, so this makes my dating scan a week?? out. I know it would be very rare to see a heartbeat at 5 weeks but I now have an agonising wait until a week on Friday to have a repeat scan!

If I ovulated a week later than expected (as I think I did), do you think my dates are okay and I'm just worrying for nothing?!

I had a missed miscarriage in December 2016, a chemical pregnancy in July 2017, diagnosis of asherman's syndrome in October 2017 and an operation to treat this in December 2017. I'm just ready for something to go right for us now :(

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks lovelies xxxx

The clearblue result will be from conception, which would be about 2 weeks behind your LMP date, so 5 weeks would sound about right to me.

I don't think you'll know any more until Friday, but FX all is ok for you

I think it all sounds very positive at this stage so I would really try not to spend too much time worrying. Unfortunately you have the wait between scans which is always hard but sadly there really isn't much else that you can do. Hope everything works out for you Thanks

Yep, all sounds very positive to me. Good luck.

Hi Op,
I had a similar thing happen to me and found the EPU to be so helpful and kind; they had me back in following a 5week scan with a sac but no heartbeat and then I had a 6 and 8 week scan too ( saw the heartbeat at 6w 4days)
So there is definitely hope for your next visit, fingers crossed for you (the wait is agonizing though!)

Thank you ❤️ I just feel all confused as they are using the first day of the chemical pregnancy bleed which would put me further along than the 5w 1day xx

@amour1985 I know this is an old post, but I was diagnosed with Ashermans and was due to have another hysteroscopy but am now 5weeks and 4 days pregnant. (Having very light brown bleeding) I am taking baby aspirin at the moment too. Was just curious to know what your current situation is? Thanks x

All sounds very positive. Once baby grows larger it will be easier for them to properly date you based on ultrasound measurements rather than using LMP
