Nursery arguments

Is anyone else at war with there partner over the nursery? They have a different idea to me but truth is it’s going to be baby! Not a 5/7 year old it doesn’t want a football logo in its room or a massive Disney wallpaper 🙈 I feel like crying

You can argue that either way though, it's a baby so it's not going to notice what is on the walls really! And won't be in there much for the first 6 months.

BlueBug45 · 28/05/2018 13:04

Nope.

Why not wait until the baby is here, then you’ll have less time to worry about stuff like this! We didn’t bother doing the Nursery until DS was almost 6 months old as he was in our room anyway. So long as you’ve got somewhere to store clothes and nappies that’s all you need.

Honestly, just don't even stress about it

We spent months getting the nursery absolutely perfect
I actually sobbed when I couldn't find the right paint colour. Hysterically
Crippled myself painting an antique cot and chest of drawers
Bought a really expensive mattress etc
Spent too much money on a perfect blind

Well my son is nearly 3 and has never slept a night in there and it's basically an un used room!

Such a waste of time and money!

Our spare room is cream so we’re leaving it like that, and have bought furniture for it. Later on, I will brighten it up a bit with curtains/pictures but for now the baby won’t sleep in there so no point in going mad decorating.

PotteringAlong · 28/05/2018 15:43

I have 3 children and we didn’t bother decorating a nursery at any point. Just paint it yellow / green / white and leave it at that and it will do you as a spare room for years to come.

As the baby will be in with you for 6 months anyway it’s not really an issue.

I did my nursery all in matching Winnie the Pooh !
He has only just started sleeping in t and he is 15 months only

heateallthebuns · 28/05/2018 16:00

A nursery is just a junk storage room so it doesn't really matter.

pastabest · 28/05/2018 16:23

Paint it cream put a cotbed in it, close the door and forget about it other than for storage for all the baby crap you will also get until the baby is 6 months old.

Or even 12 months old, or 3 years old depending on the baby Grin

ShackUp · 28/05/2018 16:48

No.

Neither of mine had a nursery because they refused to sleep. We co-slept.

Never decorated, just cleared space. Only thing we did was replace an old carpet and put better flooring down (wipeclean/waterproof), best thing we could have done.
