Early days of pregnancy anxiety

Hi,

Me and my husband went through a miscarriage in March with our first pregnancy. It was an awful time and I knew I’d be super anxious the next time we conceived.

Anyway, Friday 25th (10DPO), I did a FRER test and it came back with a positive in the afternoon! Saturday morning 26th (11DPO) did another FRER and the line was much stronger. Sunday 27th (12DPO) did a poundworld cheapie and the line was barely visible (but there) so I was getting slightly concerned. Today Monday 28th (13DPO), I got a strong pink line on FRER and a clear visible line on another poundworld cheapie. My boobs and nipples are hurting quite a bit.

Does all of this sound normal? I’m so worried about my HCG not rising normally. I’m entitled to a 6 week scan as the first pregnancy was a suspected ectopic so I’m praying that this little cookie will be the one and Work out perfectly.

Any advice, similar experiences etc. Would be greatly appreciated Smile

The Poundland cheapie do not get dark until much later on. I had faint lines on the Poundland test and dark lines on other tests, totally normal, don't freak yourself out xx

You sound exactly like me with all the testing in the early days frantically comparing lines. All sounds very very normal. Good luck!

I think I shared this picture yesterday but looks like it’ll be helpful here too! Don’t worry about the cheapy test lines - these are a FRER and a IC, both dipped in the same urine. You can see totally different lines! I’m a panicker too and despite no previous concerns I paid for a private reassurance scan at about 7 weeks as I was so anxious something would go wrong. We saw a lovely little heartbeat and baby measuring perfect. I’ve got my 12 week scan a week today so hoping all will go well then too. I can totally relate to your anxiety and it’s hypocritical of me to tell you not to but honestly stop doing tests they just worry you more, if you’ve had a lovely strong positive already I’d just leave it to your scan now :)

Thank you for your advice ladies! I will be getting a 6 week scan so I’m hoping that I’ll be reassured there. Does it matter if my boobs hurt one day and then not the next? X

My tests today (13DPO) look identical to this photo. When was this taken? And you went on to have a healthy 7 week scan? I’m such a worrier x

Just a little warning - I had a scan at six weeks and could see yolk sac but no baby, no heartbeat. Went back a week later and there it was but i was so upset at the six week mark, it was just a bit early. Had my 12 week scan last week and they moved me forward from 12+6 to 13+3 so baby isn't still behind.

If you're anxious already I'd hate for you to go through what I did (I had bleeding which is the only reason I had a scan). I'd recommend maybe leaving it a bit longer for an early scan.

@CookEmma2018 I’ve just checked the dates on my photo when it was taken - those tests were taken about 14/15DPO so very similar to yours :)

Yes went on to have a healthy scan at 7+4 (I thought I was 7+3 so dated perfectly) with a heart rate of 143bpm. Obviously I’ve not had my 12 week yet but am hoping that’ll all be fine too. I know it’s so hard to relax but do try and stop testing (and I say this as someone who tested almost daily for 2 weeks to ‘check’!).
