Hiya,
I'm pregnant with DD #2. Only 21 weeks but thinking about bits I didn't pack in my bag for me and DD #1.
These were things I will decide to take this time around as I forgot last time!

  • dressing gown (although gave birth in August and it was sweltering!! So maybe good job I didn't!)
  • Tens machine (anyone got any good reviews on them?)
  • hand held fan.

That's all I can think of right now, but wondering what you packed for baby #2 or #3 etc that you didn't pack for baby #1!

I hated the tens machine. I ended up ripping it off my back. This time im definately taking cordial as there's only so much water i can stand. Snacks and my kindle. Oh an a lip balm. I never believed people before but the wards are so warm i found my lips were so cracked from the dry air :(

There was a very similar thread a few weeks ago.

General consensus was 'food'.

DryHeave · 26/05/2018 22:52

A flannel. Wetted hand towels were shit.

Bigspottyape · 26/05/2018 22:55

paracetamol! sometimes they forget or are too busy to give you it!

TillyTheTiger · 26/05/2018 22:57

Roll-on deodorant. Aerosols were banned because they set the smoke alarms off and after 70+ hours of contractions during a heatwave I REALLY needed deodorant! And food, loads more propee food, not crappy granola bars. And sports drinks, I couldn't stomach any food until afterwards but I got so low on energy.

More snacks

FoxgloveStar · 27/05/2018 08:10

More snacks (for after)
Extra long mobile charger
Baby hair brush - my baby was born with a full head of hair and had pooed inside so I spent the first week in hospital picking it out...

Smilingthru · 27/05/2018 09:03

Straws! Was desperate for a drink whilst pushing but couldn’t manage to use a cup (sounds pathetic now!).
Phone charger-how did we forget last time?!

DC2 due in 9 weeks and iv only just started thinking about getting ready! X

EssentialHummus · 27/05/2018 09:09

Only a phone charger. We (I) over-packed otherwise. When there was a risk of readmission a week later (jaundice) we still had enough snacks, drinks and undies!

Eminybob · 27/05/2018 09:10

Food for me!
I was munching my way though cereal bars at 2am really wishing I’d packed something more substantial

Bluntness100 · 27/05/2018 09:12

Bibs.

I forgot those...🤣

PipsM · 27/05/2018 09:14

Massive capacity battery charger pack to charge my phone as couldn’t reach plug and then could use phone as it charged.

Rainshowers · 27/05/2018 09:15

I forgot flip flops the first time round so had to walk round the post natal ward in my trainers-bending down to get them on/off after an episiotomy and stitches wasn’t easy!

Wellthisunexpected · 27/05/2018 09:16

Sugary drinks. They wouldn't let me eat whilst in established labour and I only too in 2 juice cartons and I was so low on energy I couldn't do it.

WindyScales · 27/05/2018 09:24

I just had my third baby and had my first c-section. I discovered these pants which are much better than the disposable knickers I used before:

KeefBurtain · 27/05/2018 10:21

Enough knickers!

I bought 4 big pairs of granny pants from primark but didn’t figure in my waters breaking (they were broken manually as I was delivering with my 2 previous babies)

I soaked through the 4 pairs in 3 hours so I had to send dp to buy some more - think I used 9 pairs in total and I was only in from 11am (induced at 12pm, waters went at 8pm) until 1pm the following day (delivered at 5am)

bigbadwolvesnextdoor · 27/05/2018 10:51

I forgot shower gel.. actually despite DC1 being overdue and being induced I managed to forget a lot of things Grin

susej · 27/05/2018 10:56

I left the snacks at home. Apart from some strawberry laces which I was eating about 20 minutes before I gave birth (didn’t know how far along I was and was v relaxed) then vomited them out when I was delivering my placenta.

So sensible snacks.

dinosaurkisses · 27/05/2018 11:39

Deodorant - I'm not a particularly sweaty person so didn't bother packing any initially. I saw the error of my ways after my lovely post-labour shower when I walked onto the postnatal ward which was unbelievably warm.

I had to text my sister to bring me some when she came to visit.

Also, bring 2 more pairs of maternity leggings than you were going to. I had only packed one pair, but then was kept in an extra night due to a high temp during labour and I had to wear them for another day.

baylisbaylis · 27/05/2018 11:44

More food!

ladybirdsi · 28/05/2018 01:37

Snacks, and my headphones
