I’m 22 weeks and have bought a grand total of 3 sleep suits! Can’t see me buying anything else for the foreseeable future, haven’t even started thinking about buggies, car seats etc yet. I might however order nursery furniture soonish as a friend had an absolutely nightmare with a company lying about delivery lead times.

MyBreadIsEggy · 26/05/2018 07:51

With my first I started buying when we found out she was a girl at 21 weeks.
With my second I was so preoccupied with Dd, that I didn’t really have anything ready until about 2/3 weeks before he was born!

SBlonde · 26/05/2018 07:57

Congratulations ! I'm about 23 weeks , just recently bought the pram and furniture because the waiting time said 90 days! Other than that, a few basic outfits so far.

hammeringinmyhead · 26/05/2018 08:14

I'm 16 weeks and have bought one sleep suit and a rug for the eventual nursery. I think we'll order some furniture in June as I can currently help DH with flat pack, holding joins together etc, and don't really want to be doing this in my third trimester.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 26/05/2018 08:15

I think I bought one thing before about 35 weeks with my first.

MarthasGinYard · 26/05/2018 08:16

Bought buggy about 32 weeks other bits about the same time.

Thegirlhasnoname · 26/05/2018 08:17

I’m 18 weeks and just have a travel system that I picked up in the toys r us closing down sales (such a bargain!). Next scan is in just under two weeks so will probably start buying bits after that so I can get the knowledge that everything is okay in there and I should get a move on!

MouseLove · 26/05/2018 08:57

I'm almost 14 weeks and will probably start thinking about it after 20 weeks when we have more info about how healthy baby is. Then will probably start buying much later. There's no rush and at the moment I don't have any clear room to keep the stuff in. My sister and Mum are itching to buy things but we've said that once me and my husband have gone out to pick something together like a little outfit, that's when they can start, and not a moment before. 👶😂

Chembe · 26/05/2018 09:00

I am 32 weeks and think we will start buying things this month. Mostly due to the fact we simply don't have storage space for a cot/pram/car seat that isn't in use, we live in a very small cottage!

Thetimehascometo · 26/05/2018 09:03

We bought some neutral clothes between 12-20 weeks as we weren’t finding out the baby’s gender. Then did the big buying after our 20 week scan and were done by 30 weeks, which has worked out well for us as I’ve been in and out of hospital since 32 weeks and would’ve been stressing otherwise!

Shmithecat · 26/05/2018 09:05

Apart from a pack of 3 vests just after my anomaly scan, nothing until 34 weeks. And that was only because I was leaving the country soon after and not coming back til after ds was born. I'd have left it a bit later otherwise.

Havetothink · 26/05/2018 09:16

First time after 24 weeks when the baby was considered viable. 2nd time a bit more relaxed, bought a couple of little bits after 9 weeks, the pram around 19, it's hard to resist anything now ☺

Mousefunky · 26/05/2018 09:36

I started buying clothes, a couple of blankets and three reusable nappies before the first scan last year and it ended in a missed miscarriage so I was devastated to return home and see it all. I kept it hidden away in a drawer I always avoided but now I’m 17 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby who has lots of things already Grin.

I’m leaving the bigger things till 32 weeks+ because I don’t want the clutter.

Gemsie1984 · 26/05/2018 09:45

I'm also 11.5 weeks and have bought a few bodysuits so far.. had a feeling I was tempting fate but they're so cute!

Roeslein · 26/05/2018 11:08

Started buying things after the 12 weeks scan as we wanted to spread the expenses by buying a couple of things each month so we wouldn't need to go into savings. We just made a list of things we needed to pick up and divided by the remaining months so we wouldn't have to spend a lot in any single month. Am 25 weeks now and it's worked well so far, we are about mid-way through the list.

PrimeraVez · 26/05/2018 16:08

With DC1 we got a bit carried away and had a fully decorated and kitted out nursery by 20 weeks Blush

I’m 37w with DC2 now and haven’t had to buy much because we have everything from last time but I did order a load of sleep suits after we found out the sex.

surreygirl1987 · 26/05/2018 18:33

I'm 22 weeks and all I've bought so far are a few babygros ... been researching though and think I'll rearrange the spare room into a 'nursery' (paint walls etc) before I buy anything else.

Rose459 · 26/05/2018 19:49

I bought quite a few neutral things and then when we found out we were having a girl at 16 weeks she pretty much had a whole wardrobe sorted. Snuzpod etc. soon followed. I’m 35 weeks now and not much left to buy- I’m quite glad we did all the important stuff early on because I feel too big to be wandering around deciding on prams now!

jellycrumble · 26/05/2018 20:33

Bought a couple of items of clothing at 18 weeks when we found out it was a little girl, then started buying bigger bits (bouncer, crib etc) at around 28 weeks and finally bought a pram and car seat at 35 weeks Smile I've had 2 MCs so didn't want to tempt fate and buy anything too early!

SoyDora · 26/05/2018 20:38

About 30 weeks with DC1. Didn’t buy anything new except a new Moses basket mattress for number 2. Now expecting number 3 and hoping not to buy anything at all bar maybe a few new sleepsuits!

Alyosha · 26/05/2018 20:44

19 weeks and nothing so far. Not planning to get anything until 32 weeks...extreme paranoia here that something might go wrong!

BlueBug45 · 26/05/2018 21:44

I'm 24 weeks and looking at cots, prams and stuff now. There are people who are offering stuff to my OH as he has a child already who is in primary school.

Olive1988 · 27/05/2018 10:46

I'm 26 weeks and we have everything. Started buying everything after the anamoly scan xxx

happymummy12345 · 27/05/2018 10:48

Not until the month before. Even then I'm superstitious so didn't have anything in the house until after the baby was born. And therefore I'd never set anything up until the baby was born either.

LawDegreeBarbie · 27/05/2018 10:51

I bought everything in one go the week after my 20 week scan. The nursery has been decorated, everything bought and I'm now picking up clothes as and when I see them as extras to the bulk plain vests and sleepsuits I've already got.

I think once you know everything is as okay as it can possibly ever be, go for it.
