I'm having an early scan at 10am does anyone know if at 6+3 it will be internal or external?

I had an external scan first but they couldn’t see what they needed to, so then an internal scan (it was fine!). Hope everything is ok Flowers

Most likely internal, at that stage you’ll see very little on an abdominal scan.

I had both. External scan first but they wanted more detail and so then did internal. This showed heartbeat which they couldn't see on external scan.

Mine was internal at that stage

How did your scan go OP?

xLeanne128 · 25/05/2018 13:11

I had external at 6+4 hope all is ok xx

Itsabingcatastrophe · 25/05/2018 13:16

I had external at 6+6 and they saw a heartbeat, but they may do internal to get a better look. Good luck Flowers

Thank you all for the replies. It was internal the sonographer didn't even attempt an external. I'm delighted to say all went well and actually the baby is measuring 6+6 and had a strong heartbeat. I was so happy I cried! It was amazing to see it there on the screen.

Congratulations I cried at mine too. I then cried at my 12 week scan and I'm sure I'll cry at my next one
