hi everyone, I'm 7 weeks with my second child, my first i had a tiny bump didn't even show until 6 months or so, i could wear my size 6 clothes throughout my pregnancy, but this time I'm 7 weeks and all the arms on my t shirts are tight and my trouser are too, could i be having twins? they do run in my family, i knew id show a bit more this time but didn't expect this aha, not complaining though happy to have gained a few pounds lol ive been so exhausted and thirsty this pregnancy, maybe cos i have a little one to take care of this time, and my first pregnancy i had morning sickness the whole time until birth this time i haven't thrown up once but omg i feel sick a lot especially when i wake up! Cant believe how different this pregnancy is, who else has had different pregnancies or multiples?

I've not had experience of multiples, but if your arms are getting bigger, that sounds more like water retention rather than weight gain at this point. Being very thirsty can be a sign of diabetes too, I'd ask for a check up if I were you, just to be sure.

I showed much earlier and was bigger with my second than my first. Both pregnancies were completely different, but I went onto have 2 boys.

CatchingBabies · 24/05/2018 13:57

It’s quite normal to show earlier with second pregnancies and at this point it will be mostly water retention and bloating. Even multiples are still tiny and wouldn’t cause a noticeable bump so early.

its not that i even haven a bump, except when i eat loads lol i just seem to have gone up a dress size lol cant wait for my first scan feels like forever!

I was out of normal jeans by 7 weeks in this pregnancy (second baby), the bloating was crazy, I wasn't big enough to warrant maternity jeans but I couldn't fasten my old ones, I lived in leggings and baggy dresses. I think its pretty normal as your muscles aren't as strong as they were.

SoyDora · 24/05/2018 14:32

Even if it was twins, it would still only be two pea sized babies so I doubt that’s the cause of the ‘bump’, it will be bloating.
I’m 8.5 weeks with my third and have a sizeable ‘bump’ but it’s definitely just bloat.

ClareB83 · 24/05/2018 14:43

I didn't show early with my twins. I did crave water though. Drank a large jug every night.

ginandnappies · 24/05/2018 14:45

All bloating. When I was pregnant I had a 'bump' from about 6-12 weeks then my stomach went back to flat and I didn't get my proper bump till about 21 weeks. x

I put on more weight and showed earlier with my first singleton pregnancy than with my second twin pregnancy. The morning sickness was double second time round though...

HollyGoLoudly · 25/05/2018 03:45

I was sooooooooo bloated and thirsty in the first trimester, also convinced it was twins and/or GD, turned out to be neither - just terrible water retention. Pregnancy is so glamorous Wink

traumwerk · 25/05/2018 03:49

With my twins I was no bigger than in my Singleton pregnancy until I was around 10-12 weeks. I felt different early on though, and my symptoms were more pronounced such as sickness, cravings etc, plus I could feel my uterus earlier than the usual 12 weeks. I just kind of 'knew' something was up. I ended up having a scan at 8 weeks and as I was waiting I was preparing myself for either something being wrong or it being more than one and there it was, clear as day without the need for an internal scan.
