Discharge itself isn't itchy or lumpy or smelly or thrushy or otherwise Bad, just lots of it.
Midwife cackles evilly and says it's normal.
Yes I'm wearing cotton knicks and loose trousers.
Pantyliners don't help.
Sanitary towels irritate the irritated bits more.

I am raw.

It is not fun.

Sudocrem is crap.

Give me your magic solutions please MNers...

Washable fleece panty liners.

My dd is badly allergic to sudocream it makes her red raw. I find metanium works a treat for her nappy rash, maybe it would work for you too. I guess it is ok to use in pregnancy but it probably doesn't say on the tube!

Kamillosan is very gently and acts as a barrier cream while soothing - cover your nethers before you go to bed so that it has a chance to sink in and work overnight. And you can slap it on as often as you need in the day. HTH

I'm bothered with this too and have been worrying that I'm losing amniotic fluid. Is this likely? The midwife said it was very uncommon when I was there a couple of weeks ago, so not to worry about it, but how do I know it's not happening?

Eaglebird · 21/05/2007 16:10

Mamascott.
I've read that leaking amniotic fluid smells sweet. I've no experience of this though, so perhaps someone else could come along and offer more info.

I had this too, had lots of baths even resorting to having them during the night as I woke up wet all the time. Good thing is it went after the birth, how long do you have to wait?
