Freaking out

I’m about 5wks pregnant and I started bleeding on Monday, it’s like I’m having a period, no pain.
I was sent for a scan on Monday, my dates suggested I was 6wks but when I went for the scan they could see 2 sacs but only one appeared to have a yolk in it but too early to detect a heartbeat, sonographer put me at about 4wks, inconclusive scan and I have to go back in 2wks to see if there are any developments.
It’s such a long wait, I’m none the wiser to the bleeding, still bleeding and I just can’t help thinking I’m having a miscarriage.
This is my second pregnancy and I never had any bleeding with my first and have a healthy little boy.
Has anyone had anything similar?
I just want something to happen, even if it is bad news, the bleeding and not knowing is driving me crazy 😕

Hey Notslept, I went through very similar experiences (though not with twins). With DC1 I had an early scan due to bleeding and was told they could only see a yolk, and when i returned 2 weeks later we saw a healthy heartbeat. This said, i also had the same situation when I miscarried and, sadly, after the two week wait no heartbeat or sufficient development could be seen.

The harsh reality is that, at this stage, the pregnancy could go either way and the wait is horrendous. NB I had bleeding throughout both of my successful pregnancies so I wouldn’t be TOO worried about that factor alone.

Thank you for the kind words, there isn’t really anyone can say and I know 1000’s of women unfortunately experience this.
That is the worst thing, waiting for the scan and then maybe being told there has been no development.
Sorry for what you’ve been through, it is truly awful xx
