What a great thread title

Don't Pluck them!!
I have a friend who got three hairs around the nipple on one of her boobs, whilst she was pregnant and she plucked them...22 years later, she keeps having to do it because she still has the three hairs, but they are now very thick, bristly black hairs!! (Hope to god she doesn't come on MN, cause she'll kill me now)

hana · 18/05/2007 16:49

i have plucked the odd stray hair too

mother2b · 18/05/2007 16:52

There seems to be loads of them, i wasnt really hairy pre-pregnancy, whats the best thing 2 do about them?

hana · 18/05/2007 17:07

do you ahve lots? I would hve odd one or two
they never grew back after pregnancy

RGPargy · 18/05/2007 17:10

I've had mine for years lol. I pluck them as and when they appear. I am fortunate enough to be of fair skin and fair hair in "that" department so they dont really show. Might be horrid for a baby to suck on hairy nips tho, eh??

weebleswobble · 18/05/2007 17:11

This is what I love about MN - I never feel the outsider Hairy bosomed ladies unite!

Hopeitwontbebig · 18/05/2007 17:12

don't know, hopeitwontbebig
I had 3 pink bundles

Hopeitwontbebig · 18/05/2007 18:06

I'm having a girl this time, and def don't need to pluck as much, have got two boys already. Apparently the hormones that boy babies produce can have the effect of making Mum more hairy.

miniegg · 18/05/2007 21:35

no extra boob hairs but noticing a growth of very fine fair hairs on my bump !!!! luckily they're not too obvious!

Bodkin · 18/05/2007 21:41

What about disappearing eyebrows?! I look like some kind of alien! They just seem to be getting more and more scant as this pregnancy has gone on. I'll look like Vivien Westwood by the end (fashion sense has gone out the window too)...

Oblomov · 18/05/2007 21:52

God mine got worse in pregnancy. Then I practically started growing I goatee !!
Now I just plait my nipple hair into my tummy hair and attach that to my 'drop the dead donkey' bikini line, and just be done with it
Praise the lord for electrolysis.

Woooozle100 · 19/05/2007 08:38

hee hee

Got this - did last time round as well. Whilst still in hospital after having dd (I'd got mastitis and she was in special care), a midwife came round to 'milk' me. I was actually more embarrassed about the hairy nips.. tried to say quite breezily that I'd made no effort to pluck em cos I thought it affected milk production. She just said - no, you're completely OK to pluck them.. you vile hairy mammoth(OK I projected the last bit onto her!)

aikigypsy · 19/05/2007 14:15

I had 2 pre-pregnancy and they're still there. I pluck. I think there's a third creeping in.

pluck, pluck, pluck.

mother2b · 20/05/2007 13:16

Thanks for all the replys, i do get a couple around the nipples but also all around the actual bood, none of them are (were) grotequesly long, the were just really dark. i do hope it means im having a boy

i didn't get hairy nipple with my first (who is a boy) got a very hairy stomach!! which i was told was a clue to the sex of the baby.

Pinkperil · 18/03/2013 04:18

I don't think it's healthy to pluck the hairs. I have hairy boobs that arrived with pregnancy & my baby suckled absolutely fine with them there. I do sometimes feel a bit embarrassed if others are near in case they see them, but do you know what? I think the main thing is my baby. If he/she is feeding healthily, gaining weight & not bothered why should you be! Stop the plucking!! Live with it & do something about them later if you must once you have stopped bf - even if it is after a year or two!! If others comment or ask, then share your experience 'they arrived with my pregnancy', 'I'm a little embarrassed because...'. Confiding in others may make them feel more confident in confiding in you! Hairy boobs can't be uncommon! Good luck!
