Just wondering as due to the nature of my job I visit care homes and peoples houses every day.

Are there any diseases that are carried by people that means pregnant people should avoid them?
I know obviously C Diff is to be avoided but I’m not really touching things anyone else has.

Many thanks

CMV

Impossible to avoid or know if it's present. There are guidelines for pregnant women though to follow to reduce risk

Tell your work and a risk assessment should be done in case of the above.

As long as your barrier nursing skills are upto date and you practice them well you should be fine.

Chicken pox if you're not immune

Chicken pox and rubella are the first that spring to mind. And listeria, but that's food borne. Your employer should do a risk assessment, as mentioned above.
