Hi guys,

Just wondered how you broke the news of your pregnancies? Did anyone do anything fun/creative?

My sister has always said to me that I'd need to tell her in a "fun" way, so now that I'm pregnant, I'm feeling the pressure already to come up with an idea of breaking the news lol.

We told our parents on mothers day, I had mothers day cards made with a picture of our baby scan on the front with " happy gran-mothers day" written on and inside we wrote "due Sept" was quite fun :)

A friend told their sister at afternoon tea, went out for it and asked the chef to write in chocolate on her plate you're going to be an auntie. I thought that was nice

@Baby2018 Oh that's a lovely way to break the news, I'm a bit upset that we've missed that boat! My mum's birthday is in July so would be a perfect opportunity to put a scan in a really big box and wrap it up or something, but I think that's just too far away!

We broke the news traditionally and told the whole family together at a gathering. However, we did a gender reveal which was so exciting and fun. I told my best friend the sex and she baked a cake with blue icing inside. We had a lovely buffet together with everyone and then cut into the cake :) only something small but it was so lovely that everybody was together at the same time.

Good Luck!!

@jessipearson Ah, your gender reveal sounds lovely! I don't think we'll be finding out what we're having, so at least my sister can't badger me about that too Wink

Told my dad on the phone as he's abroad. Told mum in person. Told a couple of people at work and let it spread that way, I'm not big in to attention/big announcements however do suited me to tell everyone in a humble/modest way. If you want to go all out there are plenty of ideas on Pinterest!

@virgo89 fathers day is soon? maybe you could do it then?

Didn't make a big deal of it and just told people. Suffered from horrendous morning sickness so told people at about 6 weeks

Virgo89 · 23/05/2018 21:49

@Baby2018 My Dad isn't in the picture so that's not quite an option - would have been a great idea if he was lol.

@Blaablaablaa I'll probably just end up telling them as I'm not very creative lol. The morning sickness hasn't kicked in for me yet, not looking forward to that at all.. But that will probably be the giveaway, especially at work.. I just don't want people to guess before I tell them..

@JammyLittleDodger Thank you, I'll have a look on Pinterest. I did have a quick look online but a lot of what I found was aimed more at a social media announcement as opposed to telling people in person. I did read something about an announcement via a game of charades or Pictionary which I quite liked!
