I honestly thought I was too old to conceive lol we are both happy obviously, but still seems surreal. I have 4 kids already, this is a different dad to them though, oh and it'll be c-section number 5

Efferlunt · 23/05/2018 17:38

That’s lovely! Enjoy!

RevCurry · 23/05/2018 17:39

Congratulations, that's lovely news! I'm one of six and there's 19 years between me and my brother. Big families are great fun.

Scrumptiousbears · 23/05/2018 17:58

Congratulations. I had mine at 42. Absolutely knackered all the time but perfectly doable.

Pecan05 · 23/05/2018 18:01

Cheers everyone, 3 of my kids have adhd too so I'm used to hectic and knackered lol I have my dating scan on 11th July, but I think I'm around 6 weeks

How do your other kids feel about it?

Summerinrome · 23/05/2018 18:02

I am knackered (same age) even without being pregnant. Hope you have lots of help! Enjoy and congratulations! ❤️

Pecan05 · 23/05/2018 18:03

@ellalouise90 age means nothing, one of my friends had her daughter at 15, she's an amazing mum

Congratulations! My best friend had a surprise baby girl (after twin boys aged 22) when she was 45. What a fabulous gift.

Pecan05 · 23/05/2018 18:04

They are absolutely fine with it, my eldest keeps telling me to not carry any heavy bags etc lol

Pecan05 · 23/05/2018 18:05

We hadn't been "trying" but weren't being careful, so, it was getting to the point where I thought I couldn't conceive lol

Ski40 · 23/05/2018 18:09

Congratulations! 😊
I had my last at 40, second c section. It was fine. The only thing is that I coped worse with the sleepless nights and general running around and some days I feel too old to keep up with him 😂 but I wouldn't change a thing. It was a happy "accident"- I thought I was old enough that "once or twice wouldn't matter." Oops. How wrong was I.
I hope it all goes really well for you 💖

Pecan05 · 23/05/2018 18:13

Thank you @ski40 this will be my 5th c-section 🙈 I'm hoping this one sleeps all night like my other 4 did haha

@Pecan05 ino I had only been 16 for 2 months when I had him😄 wouldn't change him for the world though such a lovely , sweet , caring boy, done myself and all my family proud! I was quite a 'naughty' teenager constantly out drunk , smoking etc but when I found out I was pregnant with Hugo it really made me change and I got my head down in school (which I was meant to get kicked out of) achieving 2A's 4B's and 2C's! When I was expected to get all E's and D's! So I think everything happens for a reason and it was totally meant to happen to me and he couldn't have appeared at a better time😄😄

Pecan05 · 23/05/2018 18:35

@ellalouise90 you should be proud of yourself, I can't imagine the hassle you would have got because of your age

MummaGiles · 23/05/2018 18:37

Congratulations. My mum was a similar age when she had my younger brother, only there was a slightly bigger age gap than there will be between your new arrival and your youngest. It has definitely
kept my parents young!

Pecan05 · 23/05/2018 18:39

@mummagiles I'm still 19 in my head so it might calm me down lol

Had DD when I was 42. She's now 9 and I'm knackered!

Pecan05 · 13/06/2018 13:58

@IndieTara my other kids will be 17,15,13 and 11 when this one arrives lol I feel out of practice haha

OP posts:
IndieTara · 13/06/2018 14:09

@Pecan05 you've had lots of practise, I'm sure it will come flooding back!

And as usual accept all offers of help. Congratulations to you
