Cramps at 35+6

Hi,

This is my second baby so you'd think I'd know this but with my first I was induced due to issues with my blood pressure and she eventually came by EMCS so I didn't experience some of the things I might otherwise have done.

For about the last 3-4 days I have been having what feels like period pains. I'm being monitored at the hospital weekly because of blood pressure again and the CTG/trace today showed these cramps. I asked the midwife and she said they are contractions/tightenings. Does anyone know whether these means I am likely to go in to labour sooner rather than later or do they simply mean that my body is getting ready?

Appreciate no one has a crystal ball on this but just interested in thoughts.

Thanks!

Interested to hear the response to this! I'm 36+5 and am also having mild period pains this morning.

It's my second baby and I remember having the same with DS1. Unfortunately I don't think it really meant much and from doing some Googling this morning, it's pretty common.

With my first I had regular cramping from 37 weeks that were picked up on the trace. Every five minutes roughly. I didn't go into labour till I was 39+4 though. But as I was term no one really gave them a second thought. As long as they're keeping an eye on you I'm sure you'll be ok, but don't be afraid to call in if it starts to get worse.

I had had these pains from about the same point and was told the same, but they did say it doesn't mean it's round the corner unfortunately, DD came two days after due date
