Tilted uterus

Anyone have a tilted uterus that corrected itself? I’m fearing I’m not going to get a clear picture of baby on 20 week scan for them to check everything I don’t fancy an internal one either 🤢

Yes! Mine is tilted, 20 week scan was completed with no issues

IlikemyTeahot · 22/05/2018 20:36

yes and yes goes back into place while im pregnant then flips back again. I've had 3 and no issues with scans.

DramaAlpaca · 22/05/2018 20:36

It's a good few years since I had a baby, but I have a tilted uterus. I've had three DC so lots of scans, and I can't remember them having any difficulty seeing what they needed to see. I was sent out to drink more water at one of them, but otherwise no issues.

SoyDora · 22/05/2018 20:37

Yes, mine is tilted and had no issues at the 20 week scan.

Markygirl1995 · 22/05/2018 20:38

I haven't really got a bump either wondered if it was down to this too 🤔

Mine is tilted and I didn’t find out until

Mousefunky · 22/05/2018 20:39

Posted too soon.

Until my second miscarriage last year. I have three DC! No one ever mentioned it at all before, so weird. Never prevented them seeing anything on scans.

TheVanguardSix · 22/05/2018 20:44

Mine's tilted. Never, ever had an issue with scans or even the births.
I found out for the first time ever when I was in labour with DC1 over 16 years ago. The midwife referred to it as 'funky' rather than 'tilted'. Grin

Markygirl1995 · 22/05/2018 20:44

Did this ever effect anyone getting a bump ?? @8pinksnails @IlikemyTeahot @DramaAlpaca @SoyDora @Mousefunky @TheVanguardSix

I have a retroverted uterus, no problem with scans, the only problem I had was my dd sitting on my urethra at 16 weeks pregnant and I couldn't wee! Ended up catheterised in hospital for the weekend, very worrying, then my sister said 'oh yes, I had that too.' So just be aware.... if you get up one morning and can't wee, get to the hospital asap before they have to drain 2 litres of wee. Most uncomfortable.

Markygirl1995 · 22/05/2018 20:49

@IlPorcupinoNilSodomyEst now you say that I have noticed a change when I wee sometimes it'll be long and doesn't feel a lot coming out tmi!! Then it'll be a normal wee. How weird

No, I definitely had a bump all three times.

isthismummy · 22/05/2018 23:37

Mine is tilted, but never had an problems at scans.

I didn’t start showing at all until 20 weeks though and I’m having twins!

SoyDora · 22/05/2018 23:50

I didn’t start showing until about 26 weeks with my first but I gather that’s normal for first babies. I was definitely still in my skinny jeans at my 20 week scan.
Showed much earlier with my second and now at 8 weeks with my third I’m contemplating maternity clothes Grin

Markygirl1995 · 23/05/2018 07:48

Did it take a while to notice with your first @DramaAlpaca

Markygirl1995 · 23/05/2018 07:49

@SoyDora I think I won't be showing till same time 28 weeks I don't feel very big now I just don't want people to think I'm fat when I'm pregnant 😂

Childrenofthesun · 23/05/2018 07:52

Yup, mine is really tilted. No problems at scans though. I did carry small, even though my babies were big! I had all my labour pains in my back, and I don't know if that was due toy uterus tilting back.

Markygirl1995 · 23/05/2018 08:01

@Childrenofthesun that sounds uncomfortable labour pains in your back! I'd just really love to avoid the internal scan couldn't think of anything worse just hope it's clearer when they go to scan next week and get the info they need to check baby is happy and healthy!

Mines severely tilted and no issues at scan, only time it caused problems with scan was at my scans between 6-10 weeks that kept trying abdominal scanning but couldn't see anything so kept on with vaginal scanning until he was big enough to see on an absolute scan

Markygirl1995 · 23/05/2018 08:09

@Lauren83 was your 20 week scan fine?

OP posts:
Bethacus · 23/05/2018 09:42

Mine was tilted. I had to have an internal scan at 12 weeks but all was fine for the 20 week one. I think I remember the sonographer saying it had flipped out.

I’m now 26 weeks and people keep telling me I have a small or neat bump, but according to the midwife measurements I’m bang on where I should be. I feel massive though!

Lauren83 · 23/05/2018 10:26

Yes all fine, 12 and 20 NHS were abdo and they had no issues, I had a private gender scan at 15 too and they could see fine, like some PP I had a small bump too which worried me but I ended up being induced early as he measured big

Markygirl1995 · 23/05/2018 12:12

@Lauren83 maybe I'm over thinking it then 🙈 I'm sure everything is fine worst comes to worse I'll have an internal hey jo!

Markygirl1995 · 23/05/2018 12:13

@Bethacus aw that's good, I did have a tummy scan for 12 weeks but wasn't the clearest hoping 20 weeks will be fine!! Glad everything is well for you!

I’ve actually never known anyone have a TV scan at 20 weeks, does it happen?
