Hello all

Sorry if this is TMI

can someone please advise me about my cycle 4 months now after birth

First period I had was so so heavy and painful

Now 4 weeks on having the worse PMt for about 9 days now

What is normal? I heard read that it can be worse after pregnancy - will it always be like this ?
I am now a stone heavier than my pre pregnancy weight I would imagine this is not helping matters also

After all of my pregnancies it took a good 6 months for my periods to become normal again. They were very heavy to the point of using super plus tampons and 2 pads in my knickers that I had to change regularly. I mentioned this to some friends and most of them had heavier periods for a few months after pregnancy too. If you are worried speak to your GP or health visitor and they will be able to give you some reassurance or check you over. X

Thank you so much
Pms has been horrific

Just wondering how long this could go on for? Will it be like this for life?

I'm 4 months after birth and my period seems a lot heavier and more painful than before, my HV said it takes 9 months for the changes to happen during pregnancy, so it's understandable it's going to take similar time to return to normal. If you're concerned speak to HV?

I wasn't affected. But I was back on the combined pill from the 6 week check. So i had withdrawal bleeds not proper periods. But they were the same as before I started ttc.

Mine have always settled down eventually. I am 8 weeks into my fifth pregnancy aiming for my third child and whether it was a full term baby or a miscarriage didn't seem to matter. I always had heavy ones afterwards, but my miscarriages were quite late on.

It took a while but mine went back to normal. I found the first few more painful and also had a dragging, heavy feeling in my vagina. All ok now though (9 months)

Have you tried different birth controls to try to 'reset' it all? I don't have much experience with worse ones after baby, but birth control did help a little before ttc. After dd mine were less painful; it used to bed bound me for the first few days before her and bc.

Wow sorry to hear that :(

I am now back on the pill as of today
So keeping my fingers crossed
