9WK Ultra sound internal or external .. and what will we see?

After 3 miscarriages within a year (now taking Baby aspirin) i have had a scan at 6+4 this time round which was amazing as we heard the heart beat and saw our flickering jellybean. Because i have MC at 9 weeks before i am going in at 9+3 for another viability scan ...

Early one was trans vaginal .. just wondering if this one will be internal or external (not massively important just interested to know how to prepare) ALSO would love to know what were likely to see ... again i think id like to prepare...

I was so so nervous before i cried the hole time, nervous tears turned into happy tears when we heard the heartbeat.

I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks, she attempted it abdominally but couldn't get anything clear enough so ended up being trans vaginal. I think its at that in between stage where it can be possible through the abdomen but not always, make sure to have a full bladder that should help.

In terms of what you are likely to see, it didn't look like a baby or anything yet, more a oval shape starting to resemble a figure but very small. Could sort of identify the head but the photo I have is really just a blurry oval!

I’ve just had one at 7+5 and it was abdominal. They saw everything they needed to see.

Mine were always TV until dating scan at 12 weeks.

At 9 weeks it was looking less like a blob, but not really human yet.

I had abdominal for my 8 week scan just make sure our bladder is nice and full and there should be no issues. I'm also a size 16 so I didn't have any issues with my chubby ness and the abdominal scan.

I had one at 8+1 and it was abdominal.

Its seems like they all vary really then doesn't it ... i will go with full bladder and see what they say.

Keeping everything tightly crossed this one has the same outcome as the last!

At 8w I had an abdominal USS and we saw what resembled a jelly baby with little arm buds and leg buds, and a heart beat. Will try to attach a pic

I had a 9+3 a couple weeks ago, abdominal no prob, and this is what we saw.

Op even if thy picture is blurry which they normally are at that stage they still always change the setting to movement and it shows the heartbeat which is important at this stage so just refuse an internal if you see that's ok.

Hi All, i just thought id update this post to say i had my scan yesterday and thank goodness we saw our little love moving around on the screen!!!

Thank you for your posts they were very helpful! just wondering if you knew the sex of your babies @Summer1986 & @LimpLettice as i am convinced mine will be a boy (purely because my family are 90% male its just me and a young cousin who are female) and my bambino was sitting in a different position to the 2 pictures you posted.

Not yet but we're having a private scan on Saturday and hope to find out so I'll keep you posted. Everyone who has seen the dating scan says boy, but you really can't tell.
