Only 16 weeks pregnant and just found my first very small haemorrhoid. Very painful although tiny, hurts when I sit down. Really worried as I have a small bump being only 16 weeks and worried about how much worse it'll get as I get bigger. Also sounds silly but I'm worried about DP seeing it during sex Confused

Can I get this treated? Anyone experienced them and had success getting rid? So painful!

There are treatments and your GP can advise you. Best thing is to prevent them in the first place. Keep very hydrated, eat plenty of fibre, think prunes and dried apricots! Also don't strain on the loo, try putting your feet on stool to help when you pass a stool. I wouldnt worry about your OH. Men don't pay that close attention I promise!

Also do lots of exercise. Being sedentary increases risk of constipation which leads to haemarroids

@chewbacca83 I never strain on the loo. My diet is great and I really don't understand why it's appeared! I did everything to avoid and am only 16 weeks. Unfortunately I can't prevent something that's already happened!

I got one too OP. It went away after I gave birth however (TMI) I've been left with a bit of loose skin there Sad so I would say go to gp and see if they can advise anything and hopefully if you keep it small enough it'll go and the skin will shrink back.
Also my partner doesn't mind it Smile

Thanks @Qcumber - did you get yours as early as 16 weeks? I'm so scared about how painful this could get!

Yeah I think it was around then. I had to take iron tablets which causes constipation which really did not help! Just keep hydrated, loads of fibre. I don't know if any creams are ok to use whilst pregnant? They're so common I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure your dp will also get one eventually!

Unfortunately it's really common. You're doing all the right things. Maybe try and get up and about at work more often, drink more water and speak to your GP. I don't think it's a sure thing that it will get worse. Good luck 😊
