40+6 FML

Pretty much as title suggests. I'm 40+6 and so over being pregnant. DC1 went to 40+9 so am under no illusions that I'd likely go over, but I naively hoped I'd be done by now.

I've had 2 sweeps, the last one a week ago. Posterior cervix. I've been using the electric breast pump for days, have shoved as many male prostaglandins as I can up there, and have eaten my body weight in woo (pineapple and hot curry).

I've had 48 hours of regular but very light contractions about 1-2 minutes long, sometimes 5 minutes together. They don't progress to anything though.

I know I won't be pregnant forever but FML!!!

Anyone else in the same position?

I'm due tomorrow, so a week behind you. Just wanted to say that your post made me giggle and I really hope that things speed up for you Smile

I went to 40+6 with my second so I can only empathise.. it's so frustrating. Does sound like things are gearing up for you though. The night I went into labour with my lazy boy I had a bath and hand expressed a shit load.. went to bed at 10:30pm and woke up at 11:45pm with contractions. He was born 06:50am the following morning.. good luck!!

Thank you all for the solidarity. Glad I made you giggle cat Smile

Gonna go and get back on the breast pump 😭

I was 2 weeks late with my dd, but I actually didn't mind being pregnant so wasn't overly bothered about the lateness (first baby and I think I was probably just shitting myself for what was to come so didn't mind the extra time of normality 😂) it annoyed me more that I had an extra two weeks I didn't know about and ended up with 4 weeks off work where I basically twiddled my thumbs and watch shit tv- I could have booked a week away somewhere in the country.. I went into labour right before I was about to be induced
