9 weeks pregnant and bleeding :-(

Hi, I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my second baby at the grand old age of 43!
Having a very worrying time at the moment as I started with a small discharge on Saturday evening which has slowly got worse. Initially it was brown coloured and there was very little but it gradually developed to a more significant amount (although still only light) which was bright red by last night. I rang the out of hours doctor and after an examination was told to rest and contact the midwife this morning.
This morning I am so worried to find there are now tiny little clots as well as the red colour. Have spoken to my midwife and have to wait until 9am tomorrow morning for a scan, it feels like an eternity.
I have no pain as such, just an uncomfortable stitch / cramp like feeling in the lower right hand side of my tummy which I have felt for a couple of weeks now and it hasn't got worse or altered.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Feeling very anxious.

I had ds at 43, dubbed prehistoric with mw! Ttc unsuccessfully at 44 - ended in mc - given our age op (and def no disrespect to you) I would say honestly it could go either way.
Fingers crossed for you, it's a tough time, been there . Flowers

So sorry you’re going through this Flowers. I had two missed miscarriages last year and neither had pain but I do recall the stitch like pain you are describing and it shot down my thigh. The only ‘bleeding’ I had was brown spotting with looked a little grainy like coffee granules. I only discovered I had miscarried both times with a scan.

Bleeding can be normal but the clots would worry me. Good luck with your scan.

Not sounding good :-( Thanks for the responses x

At our age mc is due to the likelihood of things not being quite right, and obviously you know its nothing you could have changed..
No real consolation, just fact.

That thought has been going through my head too, nature knows what it's doing. Doesn't make it any easier does it!
Appreciate the support though, hubby was away in Germany on a motorbike tour which he has cut short and is currently travelling back, so have been dealing with this alone. He can't arrive home soon enough.

How stressful for you.

I've had 5 pregnancies. Ironically, I've bled in all four of my pregnancies that resulted in my DC, but nonbleeding with my mmc. So don't worry just yet.
With my son I was gushing bright red blood dramatically for weeks from a subchorionic hematoma. With my daughters I had cervical erosion and bled too.

Wishing you luck Flowers

Trying very hard to focus on the positive outcomes I have read about, nice to hear of another. Thank you x

I’m 12 weeks today and having bright red bleeding - sitting in work at the moment waiting for a phone call from the EPU, at the moment I don’t have an appointment until 10am tomorrow, here to hand hold xx

Twounder1 · 21/05/2018 12:11

Hope you're OK OP. Keep positive although it's difficult. It could go either way. I'm 22, but I bled with ds til 24 weeks monthly. I didn't know I was pregnant. Keep faith xxFlowers

At 12 weeks I bleed what seemed like a huge amount including an egg sized clot with similar v mild pain. My baby ds is sleeping next to me right now. Flowers
