Hi all!

I just this morning found that I am expecting DC2. DC1 is currently 19 months and going by my estimated due date will be nearly 28 months when DC2 arrives.

I was just wondering, for those ladies who have a similar age gap, how did you prepare DC1 for their little sibling? We have a very loving little boy who kisses and cuddles the newborns at his nursery but I'm aware this is very different to him having a baby at home!

Also, for anyone with a similar age gap, how did you find this? Still in a bit of shock Grin

Hi Smile we are going to have a bit of a bigger gap. I'm due in January and my DD will be 3 a few weeks later. I've not really thought about it. Just talking to her about baby a lot. Letting her be involved in preparing the nursery. Might see if there is a book available for toddlers about new babies. Also maybe sorting out some of her toys with her that she's grown out of and putting them in a box for the baby. She'll soon get the hang of it... probably before I do! Wink

I've had 6 children 4 were age 5yrs Down when I had my youngest. I gave them a gift from the newborn like their favourite ( hotwheels, Thomas the tank whatever they were into at the time ) and also a b brother t shirt each, they loved it. Also make them included in helping you like passing things and singing rhymes.
