How do you tell if baby is engaged? Unstable lie.

I was hospitalised a couple of weeks ago for unstable lie. Baby engaged and stayed in place two days and I was released.
Now, a week before my due date I'm prodding my stomach and I called feel something across it again. Have tried to feel around pubic bone and I'm not sure if I can feel something low or not.

If waters break on a woman with unstable lie it's classed as a medical emergency due to probable cord prolapse.

I would struggle to get to hospital today to be checked - partner away, dont drive, live rurally and no Sunday bus service, Uber doesn't exist here and taxis are a bit of a one man band/ pot luck.

Hey! I'm in a similar situation but wasn't admitted to hospital as baby had moved head down just before the scan!
But I am constantly terrified that they have moved back to transverse!
I'm 38 weeks now!

I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow but i know even a trained midwife can get the position of the baby wrong ahh

Does your midwife work Mondays? Could you give them a ring?
How many weeks are you??

I was told (when baby was still transverse) that if I went into labour to call an ambulance straight away and put bum in the air whilst waiting!

It's such an anxious time, you're not alone! Sending hugs xx

Almost 39, midwife only local on Wednesday. FML!

Cord prolapse terrifies me.

Having some low stomach pains, but it's a constant dull ache rather than coming and going so hoping it's constipation from huge levels of iron I'm on rather than anything more.

Could you ring the triage number and just see what they say??

zaalitje · 20/05/2018 22:05

They'll tell me to go in, taxi, unlikely to find one on a sunday night, will end up over £100 return as over an hours drive away.
DP away (family emergency).

I've had anxiety whole pregnancy and been seen for reduced movement etc and pretty certain hospital staff have had enough of me

Have you managed to speak to anyone or get seen today??

Stephisaur · 21/05/2018 16:28

@zaalitje did you manage to speak to anyone?

Also, if you'd be classed as a medical emergency due to the unstable lie, could you not just call an ambulance? I would say you have extenuating circumstances! Remember it's the hospital staff's job to treat you, don't feel like a burden for making them do their job!
