Anyone else struggling with sleeping on a night? I'm almost 31 weeks and for the past 2 weeks I'm really struggling to stay settled in bed. Ive been up since half 3 this morning, i am so tired but full of cold and just cannot get comfy. I'm tired all day and can't wait to go to bed on a night but find i just can't stay asleep. I'm so uncomfortable as well as she's sitting low. The only relief is laying down. How can i try get a good night's sleep? I don't remember being like this with my first.

Samantha I could of written this myself! I'm almost 35 weeks and I can't actually remember a time I slept through! I finished work at 33 weeks as I was exhausted so all I do is not fight it, get up make a tea and literally sleep when I feel like it. Easier for me as this is my first, I think it's our bodies way of preparing us for what's coming! Sorry for lack of advice but wanted you to know your not alone at those unwanted hours!

I am the same, I am 33 weeks and even with going for a 2.5 mile walk yesterday, am sat here wide awake now! I have I have had one night in the last 2/3 weeks where I have slept through!

‘3rd trimester can’t sleep’ club.
Yup, been awake since 3am despite feeling very tired.
I’m 31 weeks and have a very small bump- yet it still causes huge discomfort.
Zzzzz

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one awake! I was debating going back to bed but know my almost 2 year old will be shouting to get up shortly so don't suppose its worth it lol. 2.5 mile walk?! Wow i can't even walk to the end of our street right now. I miss been able to go for a nice walk in the summer. I have SPD too so that just adds to it. When are you all due? Xxx

@SamanthaH92 yes took our dog for a walk in a nearby forest, wasn't meant to be that long, was exhausted afterwards and thought right will sleep good, but still awake at 4.30! I am due 5th July!

SamanthaH92 · 20/05/2018 05:26

Not too long to go then. I'm due the 24th of July but having a planned section as far as I'm aware so hoping it'll be about the 10th. I bet it was lovley though, nice weather for walks atm x

38 weeks and still in the can't sleep club.

Samantha you'll probably find they won't do a planned section before 39 weeks unless there is a need either on behalf of you or baby.
Apparently there is still lung development going on till this point which is important if you have a section. Despite a couple of hospital admissions, including unstable lie at 37 weeks - now breech- I've been told they won't do a cs before 39 without medical need, consultant even said no to 38+6.

SamanthaH92 · 20/05/2018 07:11

Oh really? I was told 38 weeks at the latest. But my last consultant meeting, the consultant didn't even show up and instead was replaced by a midwife who couldn't tell me anything about the c-section. My first child was a planned c section at 37 weeks. I do have another meeting with her at 34 weeks, if she shows up. Xx
