38 weeks SO uncomfortable

Hi

Just wondering if anyone had gone through similar feelings with any of their pregnancies. I’m 38 weeks on Monday and the last couple of days I’ve been so uncomfortable, mixture of backache, Braxton Hicks, mega squirmy alien feeling movements and just generally can’t get comfy unless I’m laid down ideally!

Second pregnancy so I’ve got a toddler to look after during the day so don’t know whether that’s taking its toll, but also carrying a girl this time so wondering if I’m carrying different.

I was convinced things were happening last night with my backache and felt constant heavy pressure downstairs as I walked about. Feels like she wants to come any minute sometimes. One of my midwives said she will probably follow first ones arrival time, which was 11 days over! Don’t think I can last that long feeling this rubbish.

Anyone experienced similar at this stage? I suppose it’s hard to tell if labour is nearing or it’s just how things are going to go for the last few weeks! But I’d love to hear from others xx

I’m 39 weeks with my first and also very very uncomfortable. So many twinges and pains in my abdomen but none seem to be contractions! Have been feeling very “pre menstrual” for a week. Too restless to sleep, my back is agony and yes the pelvic pressure means I’m basically immobile.

Hopefully you don’t go overdue this time - good luck!

39 weeks on Tuesday and fairly uncomfortable now. Annoyingly baby has moved itself into a very awkward position so find sitting on the sofa really uncomfy.
Feeling overall a bit yukky first thing. Wondering if every twinge is the start of something. I’m finding the wait making me more anxious. Excited to meet baby but struggling to face up to what I have to get through first.

Aw good luck to you both too! It’s so horrible this last bit, you are just second guessing every niggle and pain. I’m so fed up with the unknown feelings! Driving me mad. I’ve been full of cold this week with a horrible cough and I’ve been convinced I’ll just cough her out (no such luck for an easy entrance right).

Thanks for sharing & hope you get some movement soon!
