How many weeks?

I know weeks are usually calculated from first day of your last period. I am pretty sure conception happened 12 days after this. So, when I am working out how many weeks I am, which should I go from? For example, if someone says they are seven weeks, does that mean their baby is actually developed as far as seven weeks, or is it just five weeks? Hope this makes sense.

Typically they’ll go with your last missed period date until you go for your 12 week scan, where they will date you properly :)

I say I’m 9 weeks, which is from last period at the moment.

Hope this helps

Thanks so much. I can't wait to have that scan. It doesn't really seem real at the moment!

My LMP puts me at 10 weeks today but from a scan I've had I'm 9 weeks today it depends on length of cycle they make assumptions on 28 day cycle mine is more like 36 so put me a week behind. But from my ovulation dates it adds up perfectly scan lady said. But you know more accurately at 12 weeks x

LMP I'm 11+2 but scan I'm 10+3 which makes sense as I ovulated CD20.

I am currently 8 weeks, which means conception happened 6 weeks ago ish. They date from last period rather than conception as all women have different cycles/ovulate at different times and implantation etc can take varying amounts of time.
