17 weeks and no contact from consultant or midwife

Hi all

I'm pregnant with Baby no 2 and was told at my booking in appointment with the midwife that I'm "high risk" for this pregnancy due to my first baby having a low birth weight and having to spend time in SCBU. I was told I would have an appointment with a consultant at 15/16 weeks then probably see the midwife again before my 20 week scan.

I'm now 17 weeks and have had no contact from the Hospital and heard nothing from the midwife since my booking in appointment. I rang the GP surgery and they gave me a mobile number for the midwife, which I have called several times but she doesn't answer.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything else I could or should be doing to chase other than keep ringing the same mobile number which seems a bit pointless?

Thanks.

Where is it you see the midwife, I see mine at the local children centre maybe try ring that to get through. It's strange you should of heard something, I got my 16 week appointment at the booking in appointment and my dd had a low birth weight and I got a consultand appointment at 14 weeks it's came after the first scan.. They seem to have let you down somewhere.. Keep ringing and leaving messages maybe go down in person, maybe book a doctors appointment and explain that you can't get though and haven't heard anything. I'm not usually a complainer I don't like to make a big deal about things but if I were you I'd start having ago at people it's usually works to get them to pull the finger out. What a frustrating position to be in, i hope you get it sorted soon x

At my surgery we have to book our 16 week appointment by phoning up their reception and asking for a midwife appointment.

Regarding the consultant appointment, could you phone the hospital? If you don't have a direct number for maternity appointments, could you phone outpatients and go from there?

I've tried phoning the GP surgery and they told me I cant go through them, I have to contact the midwife directly on her mobile. Which would be fine if she actually answered it.
When I saw her for my booking in appointment I had to go to the Hospital so I might try ringing the women's unit and see if I get anywhere with them.
