Uncomfortable belly.

I'm almost exactly 16 wks and was wondering if anyone else felt uncomfortable at this point in their pregnancy? It feels quite early but my belly has suddenly gone rock solid, can't lay on my back without feeling weird, desperate to lay on my left hand side and get immediate relief when I do. Anyone else have this this early on?

I had that - think my insides grew faster than my skin. I’m 27 weeks now and every week or so I feel like I’m about to burst out of my skin.

@voxnihili did not expect to feel this uncomfortable so early. It's making me feel sick. Can't imagine what it's going to be like from here on...

I find once my skin catches up I’m fine - until the next growth spurt!

I am 16 weeks tomorrow, so at the same phase as you and I’ve had the same. On my back and sides sometimes I have a kind of tugging feeling inside which is uncomfortable. I wake up a lot in the night trying to get comfortable (I think the waking up might be that I’m not used to not sleeping on my belly). My bump seems big for how far along I am (people keep commenting “are you sure there’s just one”).

On one of my pregnancy apps it did say that at around week 16 is when you need to start sleeping on the left side - so it could be linked to that.

Hope you’re managing to get decent sleep.

I felt exactly the same, so uncomfortable it was preventing me sleeping. I bought a pregnancy pillow though and that's sorted me right out. Now I'm 28 weeks its the constant need to go to the loo during the night keeping me up not the belly again! (yet!)

Normal, I still get it at 39 weeks. It's particularly horrible when I'm trying to turn around in bed and I get stuck on my back briefly as it makes me panic a bit trying to roll over.

Best thing seems to be to have a metal bed frame that I can reach and grab and yank myself over to one side instead of thinking I can do it myself.
