Hello all,

I am currently 24+4 and I rent a bedroom at the moment so looking for so advice on housing and benefits.
Unfortunately the dad doesn't want anything to do with the baby so have no support from him.

I am looking to move closer to my family for support so will only get SMP as have to move away from my current employment.
Can anyone help on benefits and know where is best to go to actually talk to someone about this, not just go through a computer or CAB as they weren't very helpful?

Thank you :)

Can't help with benefits but does the dad work? If so go to the CSA for maintenance as soon as the baby is born. My understanding is that they can't back dat claims.

Good luck with everything and congratulations!

Just a thought but you could try Gingerbread? They are a charity that supports single parents so they might be able to assist with the benefits side of things.

Thank you for your help! :)

I don't know if he works or not, when i left him he lost his job, but i don't really want him to have anything to do with us as he isn't a very nice person.

I will have a look at that charity.

I am sooo excited and loving being pregnant, not letting this get me down.
