Hello
Just seeing if anyone has any ideas, I'm 38+5 and no real signs of baby arriving however the last two evenings I've been getting terrible lower back pain constantly followed by sort of a wave of pain in my bump lasting for around 15 seconds every sort of 15 20 mins. It all lasts around an hour to two then it's gone. I feel nothing in the day time just the odd twinge...has anyone else experienced this x

@buddy17 hey, sorry I don't have an answer but I'm feeling the same.. I'm 38+6 today and for the past 2 days I've had period cramps, yesterday they started at around 8pm quite irregular then started to get stronger with waves of tightness around the bump till about 3am, still irregular... this morning there's nothing.. I just want this baby out now!!

@Natasha92 I know I'm with you! Got a little excited thinking something was starting then it just disappears completely, so frustrating. Yours sounds the same...it must be something surely

@Buddy17 I know it's so dissappointing, I thought I would be in labour by now sat at the hospital! I know it has to be something, this is my first so I don't even know what to expect.. I've read a lot of forums that say early labour contractions can start and stop so I'm really hoping it's that and not just a false alarm!

I had very similar to this, started at 38+1 and my baby was born the day before his due date, he is now 12 days old. I was having weekly sweeps so knew that with each week I was progressing one more cm, but when real labour starts you definitely know! My labour was only 3 hours long which I was told could have been because I had such a long lead up, I know it’s not what you want to hear but it sounds like your body is doing everything it should at this stage and it’s so worth it in the end!

@kiabella aww congratulations :) 3 hours long labour, wow!! I hope that's me, did u do anything to help kick start proper labour? Did your period pain/contraction just come at night as well? I keep getting my hopes up but like you say I'll deffo know when it's real labour... who would have thought I'd be wishing for labour pain lol! I don't want to go overdue :( everyone says I'm probably likely to as it's my first
