Just took ibuprofen in third tri - argh!

35+3 and just took ibuprofen instead of paracetamol for griping pains. I'm exhausted from two sleepless nights and didn't look properly at the packet on my bedside table.

As a one off dose do you think it'll be ok? I kind of know it will but have let my mind race ahead a bit.

I think as a one off dose you will probably be fine, but you could always give your midwife a wee call tomorrow just for a bit of reassurance

Yes, I could do that. Seems mad to call the triage line over 2 ibuprofen capsules.

it will be (most probably) fine. 'household' quantities are quite small. in other countries ibuprofen is deemed ok in the secon trimester, it's the last couple of weeks where ibuprofen can interfere with the development of the heart.

but please make it a habit to keep medicines out of reach of children.

My baby isn't born yet, so I don't think we need to worry about keeping meds out of reach yet...

You will be just fine darling - It's not ideal as you say but I know loads of people who took ibuprofen throughout!! So stupid of them, but seriously a one off dose will do no harm. Best of luck on your soon to be little bundle of joy!! X
