Did you find out the sex?

Everyone I know who's having a baby at the moment is finding out the sex at the anomaly scan. I don't want to find out for a number of reasons (if people buy gifts we want gender neutral (though not expecting gifts at all of course!), would love DP to tell me the sex at the birth if possible, feel like it'll help me get through labour etc).

I understand why people do find out also and have definitely toyed with the idea. It's going to be hard to say 'no we don't want to know!'

Did you find out the sex of baby/babies? And why did/didn't you?

We found out simply so we could refer to her by name instead of saying 'baby' or 'it' as it just made us feel a bit odd. Still bought all gender neutral etc as well, just made us feel more connected being able to use her real name when talking to her in my tummy or talking about her with each other Smile

I'm not finding out mainly because I don't want to be given loads of pink clothes and dresses if it is a girl. I don't actually mind whether it is a boy or girl as we have names for both.

Didn't find out first time but planning to this time. Reasons being that we have 3 years worth of girl's clothes and it would be good to know if we need to keep hold of these (especially as moving house in middle of pregnancy) and also feel it would help my DD get used to the idea if she knows if she'll have a brother or sister.

Nope I didn't find out with my first. We didn't care what we had, neither of us wanted to find out and I love babies in white anyway. I had a little inkling all along it was a boy though (it was).

We are TTC #2 in a few months. I toyed with them idea of finding out this time but as time has gone on, I don't think we well. Again, not at all bothered about whether we have another boy or a girl next time, and most of the big items/toys/newborn clothes etc are all gender neutral anyway.

I can understand why people do find out but we just preferred not knowing until the birth.

We found out both times. No particular reason the first time, just too impatient to wait the full 9 months I guess!

The second time I wanted to know if we were going to need all the clothes I'd saved from DD1!
