35 weeks measuring 31cm

Hi all,

I had my 35 week appointment today and I was already measuring small, however I've done a dip on the chart and only grown 1cm in 3 weeks. So am now measuring 31cm.

My midwife has got me in for an emergency scan tomorrow morning, she told me not to worry it could be the way he was lying and his head was 3/4 down.
(Have had a very low risk pregnancy throughout)
But I just wanted to know if anyone else has gone through this and their experiences?

Thanks xx

In my last pregnancy I had the same can't remember exactly how many weeks I was but was around the same as you and I was measuring behind and I was told to go straight to hospital once I'd finished at doctors and I was hooked up to hear baby's heartbeat etc however everything was fine he did only weigh 6lb at a week over but still he was healthy and happy. The measurements are off sometimes loads of people are sent for growth scans and everything's fine. I'm 13 weeks now and I've got to have growth scans from 28 weeks due to last baby being small but it's just a precaution. Smile x

The important bit is the scan and not the measurement. Hope everything is as it should be when youre scanned tomorrow xxx

I measured 32/33cm at 37+5 - measurement hadn’t grown at all from previous appt a couple of weeks earlier. I was pretty sure she was fine, but was booked for a growth scan just in case (having turned one down at the previous appt when I was also measuring under!). She ended up arriving in the early hours of the day the scan was booked, 6lb 9oz and perfectly healthy! I also had growth scans with my older 2 children thanks to measuring small and they were also both fine (and both nearly 8lb born!). Some people just carry slightly smaller. It’s good that they’re checking it out just in case, but don’t stress too much Flowers

Yes, I had similar and all was fine. Good luck.

Thanks ladies! I feel like he's going to be long because I'm 5'9 and his dad 6,2 heartbeat and everything was good at my appointment, hopefully he's just laying awkwardly xxx
