Dull headache- 23 weeks

Hi all,

Just wondering (hoping really!) that others might have some experience of having dull headaches which aren't an indication of something more serious, i.e. preeclampsia...?

I came back from holiday in Crete on Friday and since then each day I've had a really dull headache; no visual disturbances or anything, no fever or other sick feelings, but just an annoying dull headache!

Baby is very active still (as has been the norm now for 3-4 weeks) and is kicking around but just not sure really if this should be a big concern or not...

I've googled it and all I've found connected to headaches in second trimester is worrying posts about preeclampsia. Just wondering if this is a normal pregnancy symptom/ will pass or if I need to be taking it more seriously?

Thanks for any advice!

I'm just over 23 weeks - had a few headaches recently. But my BP has been good. I think it might be the change of weather and getting a little dehydrated. I've been upping the fluid intake and munching bananas which helps. If it gets bad, I was told by my midwife to take a paracetamol - if the headache is still there after an hour call maternity. Preeclampsia headaches are apparently not responsive to paracetamol.

@Bibijayne thanks; I've been drinking about 3 litres of water a day recently, but am going to increase to maybe 4 for time being and see whether it helps!

fingers crossed

I don't know about you - but as a FTM I find myself worrying about every ache and pain and weird pregnancy symptom.

But at the same time I feel bad for bothering my midwife...

@Bibijayne I know, that's exactly how I feel! I went home last night though and my headache just wasn't improving despite taking 2 x paracetamols so called the triage and they asked me to come in. Got everything checked and my blood pressure is a bit high although nothing else looked wrong. Am going back in 2 days to double check it.
I feel like as a FTM everything is a worry and sometimes googling symptoms is the worst thing you can do!
