🤧😷🤓

Looking for and suggestions (beyond food remedies, glasses and Vaseline around my nostrils) to manage my bloody hay fever this year whilst growing a baby. 😫

In short, what drugs can I take!?

You can get a nasal spray called Prevalyn which states it’s safe in pregnancy. I feel your pain, I really struggled when I was pregnant!

Faith!! Thank you so much. I will try that. I love avamys spray usually, but it’s under doctors advice and my doctor will barely allow me to sneeze while I’m pregnant, let alone take any drugs!!

It’s up to you if you are happy to take the risk but I’ve been taking Claritin. Nhs website says it’s the safest to take. Midwife said it was fine.

Mines been awful. Even with the Claritin I’m still really stuffy and unable to smell or taste for several hours each morning. Wasn’t sleeping so I just bit the bullet. It’s taken the edge off enough so that I can function.

I never get it this bad. Must be pregnancy thing.

I’m a card carrying yearly sufferer! I’ll check out Claritin too. I usually use the nasal spray daily, as doctor told me it builds up in your system, and then take a cheap tablet (from Home Bargains or something) when I’m symptomatic. With this approach I’ve really managed it over the past couple of years.

I found some info here which is quite helpful - www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/935.aspx?categoryid=54

I've been taking one-a-day loratadine tablets and they've taken the edge off. I take it at night as I find my hayfever is worse overnight and in the morning.

@NotTakenUsername i tried Prevalyn biggest waste of £13.50! Its supposed to coat the inside of your nose so the pollen etc cant irritate the nose BUT its just this goo that sits in your nose that feels like snot just sitting there and it makes u sneeze and want to blow your nose so then it all comes out and back to square one! If you find another miracle cure let me know! X
