28 weeks - very variable movements

I'm 28 weeks exactly and a natural worrier... though pregnancy has taken my anxiety to a whole new level :-(

Some days baby is so quiet during the day that I'm rushing home from work to immediately lie on my side and glug iced water to check in and make sure all is well.

Other times (like today) I'll have periods of INTENSE movement. Kicks so strong my whole stomach is visibly moving. Today I had this for about 3 hours with very little rest... but, low and behold, she's gone very quiet now.

What have others movements been like at 28 weeks? Is it normal for them to vary SO much? I know baby still has some space so is perhaps just changing position. It's not helping me that I read that TOO much movement is also a cause for concern... now I'm anxious when I feel nothing and anxious when she's having one of her crazy spells too!

Any experiences would be lovely to hear - does it get more consistent than this?!

Thanks x

I’ve had similar and my midwife has reassured me that if it is normal for baby to play to it’s own tune it is fine... however if I am ever concerned to go in and get checked out.

Baby is a lot more active now at 32 weeks but I know from 26-31 weeks I panicked a few times and had to lie down and check baby was moving. DH is a calming force though so did rationalise with me that maybe I had been busy at work and just not registered the movement

My baby didnt settle into a pattern until 33 weeks. Even now at almost 38 weeks it still has busy times and quiet times.

Mine is still like that at 38 weeks!
