Stabbing pain in uterus - 4 weeks pregnant

Hi ladies, I was at a wedding yesterday and I experienced sharp, painful stabbing pains quite low and centrally in my uterus for about 2/3 seconds - not a huge amount of time and there was no bleeding, but had me worried. I had a miscarriage 2 months ago and I'm just quite nervous I suppose. I'm 4+4 and I was wondering if anyone else has had this and gone on to have healthy pregnancies and babies? Thanks so much - and happy Sunday!

I've been having so many weird stabbing pains, pulling pains this time round pretty much everything that could ache/hurt has. My backs been bad and I'm only just 13 week I've been checking the toilet everytime as I'm so worried and had spotting throughout this pregnancy. Think it's just everything making room for the baby. Sorry for your loss Thanks

There's loads of aches and pains in pregnancy. I think the general consensus is if there's pain but no bleeding, you're usually ok. Just need to keep an eye on things and take it easy. If it only happened once then it's very likely to be nothing's

Normal. With my first I didn't know I was pregnant and I was in agony and had no idea what it was.

At 4 weeks I mean - I found out shortly after!

I think it’s probably uterine ligaments stretching. I had this in all three of my pregnancies and two of them turned out just fine :)

Thanks ladies - that helps a lot to put my mind at rest :) Thank goodness for the Internet and Mumsnet - no one really tells you what to expect when you get preggers, so it's great to have a sounding board here!

I had terrible pains up until around 7 weeks. When I say terrible I mean on and off period type pains. These ended and the nausea took over. I'm now 13 weeks and only just relaxing into preggo life. All the best to you, I hope the pains subside quickly x
