I'm becoming breathless and tired at the smallest of jobs at the moment anyone else doing this? I'm only 20 weeks

Yes. I’m a bit further ahead at 32 weeks but it started a while ago. Mainly with going up and down stairs. Feel like I’m really unfit! Now I get it just sitting in any position that isn’t straight on a hard chair. It’s the oddest feeling. Not like when you are out of puff at the gym - just breathless for no reason. Had it checked out And it’s all fine. Just the baby pushing on my diaphragm plus extra weight.

I had a problem when expecting ds2, I had breathlessness, dizziness and hear palpations. Not sure if this is similar to what you are experiencing. It was horrendous, doc said that during pregnancy women have extra blood and the heart can find it difficult to keep up. She was concerned I would faint and signed me off work at wk23 right through until the end. There were no long term implications for me or baby. I'm now 19 weeks and thought it wasn't going to happen this time, but I've felt but a bit in the last few days! 😩😩😩The joys of pregnancy!🍀

I’ve been like this the last week or so. My heart rate according to my Fitbit goes right up to 120-130 but not so much when I’m exercising, more when my 4yo DS is having a moment and I’m getting cross. It’s scary! I can’t not tell him off for the rest of my pregnancy I’m only 15 weeks!

Im 18 weeks and have had this for ages. It's shit. Im a teacher and I can't talk without getting out of breath. Pain in the arse.

laurabmummyof3 · 13/05/2018 19:31

I'm am too Bosswitch and I'm always nursery class or p1-2and doc felt I could easily fall due to dizziness injuring myself my baby and or the children. It was because of my job she signed me off. Speak to your doctor.🍀

Baby is squashing my lungs too and has been for months. I'm almost 39 weeks with dc2 and I know from last time that it will get easier to breathe when he drops. I just don't know when he might do that.

Harebellmeadow · 13/05/2018 19:36

Speak to your doctor. Could be iron deficiency. My doctor put me on floradix and magnesium and the breathlessness was gone. Now 26 wks and waiting for the breathlessness due to squished lungs to start.

I would see your midwife or gp. I was breathless during last pg, mentioned to midwife and combined with high resting heart rate she send me straight to hospital to rule out a blood clot. Markers in my blood didn’t entirely rule it out so I had to inject blood thinners for a few weeks and have a heart scan. Nothing was found but it could have been so best to be cautious. I think mine was perhaps stress related, I got a sick note from work to do only 3 half days til my maternity leave kicked in and it got much better. It was from about 32 weeks ish if I remember correctly.

Thankyou it's not all the time I was anemic but now I'm not according to the midwife. I only seem to get breathless from walking up And down stairs or doing jobs like cleaning up or a bit of light gardening I mention it to midwife, give them a call. No dizzy ness or raised heartbeat I don't think

Thanks - I've been checked and am apparently all fine. Still getting out of breath though! Think it's one of those things I'll just have to live with. Annoying though. I teach secondary so am trying to do a lot of it sitting down, but that only works with well behaved classes unfortunately Hmm

Hazyhayz · 13/05/2018 22:02

I feel you! Im 32 weeks and have been breathless for a really long time. I had all the tests and it just another crappy pregnancy thing. Its rubbish but a blessing! Take it easy!
