Anybody got any remedies for bloated stomach please. Feels really uncomfortable is this normal and when will it go away. It's not worth making a doctor's appointment is it

I've been bloated since finding out 12+5 now and still am think it's just part and parcel 😬

Nothisispatrick · 12/05/2018 20:00

Unfortunately my bloat stayed there until it turned into an actual bump at around 15 weeks.

I'm the same. I'm 7+5 now and my stomach is huge! I'm a size 10 with a relatively flat stomach usually so it's hard to hide 🙈

Ash1992 · 12/05/2018 22:16

Hope it doesn't last like this for ages

I'm currently 35 weeks but in both this pregnancy and when I was pregnant with ds, I bloated straight away and just stayed bloated until the baby replaced the bloat. I think I looked the same size at week 6 as I did at week 20 or so. Sorry.

Loulabelle25 · 12/05/2018 23:00

I bloated as soon as peed on the stick and stayed that way until about week 15. I cried on several occasions as it was so painful and all up under my ribs. At 23 weeks, now that there’s actually bump, the bloat seems to be staying away.

Peppermint tea is quite helpful for trapped wind, if that's contributing to your bloat.

applesandpears56 · 13/05/2018 06:15

No you don’t need a drs appointment!
It’s called being pregnant! Your tummy is going to grow and grow from now on. It is normal and part of what pregnancy is.

eurochick · 13/05/2018 06:33

It's completely normal. Please don't waste a dr appointment on this.

Ash1992 · 13/05/2018 06:49

Thank you . For your help. As it's my first I think you worry more as you don't know what to expect I haven't had a midwife appointment yet its on the 23rd don't know about a scan yet not sure when you are meant to have these does anybody know Nd what happens on the first midwife appointment does she take bloods etc

This happens and for me it stayed for about ten weeks. You can help things by taking lactulose to soften and also regular magnesium. These should reduce the bloating. Also, drink plenty of water (easier said than done if you get morning sickness).

Ash1992 · 13/05/2018 07:43

Thanks I've been taking b6 tablet with magnesium I feel ok in the mornings no sickness as of yet and the bloating is not bad it's as soon as I eat or drink
