Is this my waters or am I slowly turning to liquid?

Hi everyone, this is embarrassing so bear with me.
I don’t wear underwear to bed Blush and when I woke up this morning there was a wet patch where I’d been. Okay I though, oops, probably peed a bit. Went to the toilet and came back, sat on my bed whilst I flicked through my to-do list.... I stood up and a little patch of wet again (5 mins maybe I was sat for). So I naturally thought OH LOVELY, I’ve hit peak pregnancy glow, clearly Grin . Anyway I went to wipe myself and come back and the same thing has happened. I’ve just changed my sheet after having three small wet prints where I’ve been sat Hmm

Could this be my waters? I feel absolutely fine. Or just increased discharge? Which I assume but it seems incredibly fast to be happening if I can make a wet patch in a few minutes 🤔

What do you think? My hospital is an hour away so I don’t want to go make a fuss over nothing and it turns out I’m just being a peepants.

Any input would be appreciated Smile

Sounds like you have a slow release/leak of your waters.

Do you have any MW apps coming up? This could last for days. Tena lady until then ☹️

But yayy! Your baby is nearly here x

🤢 Jesus wept. No midwife appointments. My next appointment was on my due date for a sweep. It’s still happening but ramped up a bit now 😱 it’s too early! Maybe I’m just really ultra dischargy today Hmm

Phone in. They won't mind.

mommybear1 · 11/05/2018 10:10

Call the hospital they will advise this happened to me at 36 weeks the advice was if you are going through more than two towels an hour it's definitely your waters - good luck OP

Brenna24 · 11/05/2018 10:10

Put a pad on and give them a phone. They will want to check the pad to be sure it is your waters. There is an infection risk if you go too long after the waters go, so they will want to know.

Belliniteeny · 11/05/2018 10:19

Does it smell different? Apparently amniotic fluid does smell different to urine etc. 38 weeks isn't too early. Good luck!

FranticallyPeaceful · 11/05/2018 10:35

It smells like nothing really, but when my waters have gone previously it didn’t smell like anything to me either. I just rang them and they told me to put a pad on and go in about two hours... I’m hoping it’s just pee because I fully expected to be overdue so I don’t feel very prepared!

How exciting! Let us all know :)

Do you know what you're having?

FranticallyPeaceful · 11/05/2018 19:30

A boy! Smile

So I went to the hospital and was monitored and she checked me but said she couldn’t see anything and to keep an eye on it, which was a wonderful waste of time! Grin anyway I came back home and the pad now has very slightly tinged red wetness. It’s very slight, should this be a concern?

I'd ring again with that info to check, just to be sure.

MyDcAreMarvel · 11/05/2018 19:32

Ring the hospital and tell them about the slight blood , they will advise.

MrsMozart · 11/05/2018 19:33

Call them again.

Belliniteeny · 11/05/2018 19:34

Be vigilant that it isn't brown/green to tint

MrsDc7 · 11/05/2018 19:34

It could be bacterial vaginosis. I had that during my last pregnancy and the symptoms were like that... although at your stage of pregnancy it could definitely be your waters!

MrsDc7 · 11/05/2018 19:34

Oh just seen your update... could that be a bit of the plug?

FranticallyPeaceful · 11/05/2018 20:07

I rang up and they said it could be plug or it could be that the speculum scratched my cervix during the exam, and I have to keep an eye on it and let them know if it gets any worse or heavier.
I’m having a big panic-tidy now Smile everything is reasonably sorted but if anything this has made me realise not everything for the little human is really in its proper place yet and I should probably sort that out
