In the last couple of weeks I've had a couple of episodes of dizziness. I've put it down to the heat, dehydration etc but this morning I've had another and this time It was worse.
I wasn't even stood up I was sat on the toilet, i suddenly got really Hot, and my vision started going black. I tried to put My head down but obviously at 33 weeks that isn't easy. Once the dizziness had passed I felt really sick, I didnt throw up but spent another 5 mins on the floor of the bathroom. It all left me very shaky. I'm home alone with my 3 yr old dd. I've phoned my midwife but she wasn't there so I had to leave a message.
Anyone else experienced this?

If you Google it you'll find lots of articles explaining that it's a common/usual symptom of pregnancy! Speak to your midwife still but I've read lots of times that it's 'normal'..

My midwife wants to check my blood pressure and iron levels so I'm going to see her this afternoon. I know that dizziness is common in pregnancy but I was sat down which is what worried me. I'm alone most of the day with a 3 year old so obviously I can't be fainting and this morning it was very close. I am classed as high risk due to complications with my 1st pregnancy so I suppose that has got me more worried.

Hiya

Happened to me on Wednesday and I was up in triage until 2.30am. It can be a normal symptom of pregnancy but sometimes it can be a sign something isn't right - me being dizzy with shakes is a sign of low blood sugar but also my haemoglobin dropping (it went to 50 in 2014).

Good for getting checked out.

I had the same thing! I went really dizzy whilst sat down. It only happened the once though fortunately.

Hoping you feel better soon!

We'll my blood pressure is fine. She took blood to check iron levels but I won't get the results till Monday obviously. Just got told to take it easy as much as possible and take it slowly when getting up and down. On the positive side my baby has been breech up until now but is now head down and is almost engaged so that's good.

I found I was more dizzy if I had not had enough water to drink. I had a 3 and 2 year old so was rather busy but then very worried about fainting.

Thats good! Hope all goes well for you from here Smile I've had issues with my platelets dropping down.. Luckily they seem to have stopped dropping now and are at 128 but my midwife came around to take my blood again today. If I go below 100 I might have to go on the labour ward and I can't have an epidural. I really don't want an epidural anyway but I would love a water birth in the birth centre so fingers crossed they don't drop dramatically in the next 10 days!
