hello everyone

just looking for a bit of advice on something my midwife said today if anyone can help.

32 weeks pregnant, everything at the appointment was great baby is head down and in position, but she didnt say anything about being engaged ect.

tested my sample and asked me to do another to send of as few bits floating about (sorry) told her i get thrush a lot during periods and on and of for the past 6 months.

asked if any pain and i told her the last few days iv had on and of stabby type pain and period pain in belly and back.

anyway midwife said that will send sample to test as it can either be a uti or the start of something.

she didnt say any more and i wish i had asked

but does she mean poss start of labor or start of something else?

thank you

Uni normally stands for urinary tract infection so hopefully nothing to worry about

I’ve had bits floating around from the early stages, midwife and consultant have just said it is more to do with an increase in discharge when pregnant and not to worry too much. Providing your strip test is coming up ok I wouldn’t be too worried

A Uti can cause period like pains but can also lead to early labour in some (rare) cases. I had to get tested for this about 3 weeks ago. I had a Uti and was getting period like pains in my belly and back so they where timing them in the hospital and checked to see if my cervix was still closed, it was and I wasn't in early labour and got given anti biotics. They just like to check and make sure, don't worry too much! Smile

Thank you everyone
Pains not often enough (few times a day) for them to be worried
Iv had utis in past so used to the burning and strange colour/bits but first time iv had any pain so guess been lucky so far Grin
Wasnt my normal midwife and she didnt say if the strip was clear or not just that i may have one and to send of another sample.
First time pregnancy so i tend to panic over everythiny little thing said Blush
