4 weeks pregnant when did you all have your first scan?

Private scan at 7 weeks, NHS at 12 weeks.

Wildlingofthewest · 10/05/2018 08:10

NHS scan at 12 weeks.
I don’t think you get a scan on the NHS any earlier than this unless there are other issues going on.

Blaablaablaa · 10/05/2018 08:15

Scan at 5 weeks because I was bleeding. Another at 11, 14 and 20.

11 and 20 were the standard booked ones the others were because I had issues.

PotteringAlong · 10/05/2018 08:16

Everyone gets 2 standard scans at 12 and 20 weeks

Havetothink · 10/05/2018 08:36

First Nhs scan is between 11 and 14 weeks of you're low risk, second between 18 and 21 weeks. My first was at 14 weeks and felt like a long wait.

Ash1992 · 10/05/2018 09:18

Can I have a private scan at 7 weeks if I don't want to wait that long

Yes if you can afford it! Have a google for clinics offering early scans in your area and check the prices.

Ash1992 · 10/05/2018 09:30

At what week is it best to have an early scan if nhs is 12 weeks

OP posts:
Wildlingofthewest · 10/05/2018 09:40

Is there any reason you want to have an early scan??

PotteringAlong · 10/05/2018 10:04

Well, the best week is week 12, which is why the nhs scan you then.

zaalitje · 10/05/2018 10:10

You can have a private scan at 7 weeks, they won't be able to confirm any abnormalities at that stage, just gestation and a heart beat.

The NHS scans at around 12 and 20 weeks are best timed to pick up any issues.

Ash1992 · 10/05/2018 10:12

Just because it's my first and I got told I had polycystic ovaries so I guess just piece of mind

Anyone had a 6 2eek early scan but they couldn't see anything

I had a five week scan because of bleeding and they could see gestational sac. Checked again at seven weeks and we saw the yolk, pole and heartbeat. I had another around nine weeks and the evolution was astounding. It was really fascinating.

Ash1992 · 20/05/2018 18:26

The lady said I have a tilted uterus and thick endometrium and she said she could not see much and come back in a week. I'm so worried! As I should be 6 weeks my last period should of been 7th April
