Maternity jeans that aren't skinny????

Belle20 · 09/05/2018 20:53

So I've started looking online for maternity jeans after speaking to one of my colleagues. She suggested an over bump pair saying that they were super comfy.

Now that I've been searching the internet I've found that the fashion seems to be exclusively skinny jeans. Considering I wouldn't wear skinny jeans when I'm not preggers (thunder thighs) I'm finding it incredibly difficult to source other styles

Do any of you have any suggestions??

Fingers crossed xxx

I bought some mom jeans from Topshop yesterday. They’re yet to arrive but I’m hoping they’ll be nice for summer.

You’re right though, so hard to find any non skinny maternity jeans!

I got some bootcut from h&m a couple of years ago but checking just now they don't have any. Had a quick look on gap they do have some boot cut/ flare types but much more expensive.

you could also try ebay.

I ended up finding some second hand on eBay. I think Bon Prix had some too though. In the end I found dress plus leggings more comfy most of the time.

Ha ha ha ha ha, good luck!!
I had this problem last year, afraid I ended up in leggings and tunics (a new thing for me) as I couldn't find a single suitable pair!!

Very sorry, if it's any consolation it will be over before you know it.

Thanks ladies. I do wear a lot of leggings and skater dresses pre pregnancy so I might end up sticking with something similar but it would be niceb to have some comfy jeans x

I just got some straight leg from JoJo mama Bebe and love them 😍 so comfy!

thinpigeon · 09/05/2018 22:47

I was the same re skinny jeans. Mothercare do a bootcut style that I am currently living in!

INeedNewShoes · 09/05/2018 22:50

I had this problem last year too! I bought a bump band from Jojos which kept me in my normal non-maternity jeans until around 36 weeks.

I just got a pair of boyfriend jeans from Dorothy Perkins

Try the aforementioned Dorothy Perkins or ASOS.

Agent13 · 10/05/2018 07:47

I struggled too, everything seems to be skinny! I did find some on ASOS - most of theirs are skinny too but there are a couple that might suit, try the Kimmi ones.

GummyGoddess · 10/05/2018 07:50

I only wear boot cut jeans, I hate all the other styles. I got mine from Amazon, a brand call fun mum. Would suggest you size down though as the waist sizing is very generous. I've worn them since about 2 or 3 months (now 9) and have worn through the first pair due to almost daily wear.

Havetothink · 10/05/2018 08:01

Really frustrating trying to get non skinny stuff. I don't get on with over the bump trousers i found the bump bit isn't always big enough and don't like it resting half way up. If you gonna be pregnant over summer you might want to consider if you really want that extra layer too.

Eminybob · 10/05/2018 08:13

Have a look on ASOS, admittedly about 90% are skinny, but there are a couple of straight leg, boyfriend and wide leg cropped.

BlueBug45 · 10/05/2018 09:00

I second JoJo Mama Babe. Though you may actually find them looser than the straight leg styles you are use to so their skinny jeans may be ok.

I'm currently trying to find leggings that are long enough as most shops seem to have a maternity clothes legging stock problem..

GummyGoddess · 10/05/2018 10:51

@BlueBug45 I got maternity leggings from New Look and they were about 2-3 inches too long for me and I'm 5'6".

BlueBug45 · 10/05/2018 10:55

@GummyGodess I have long legs and a short body so trousers, leggings, jeans and even bikes for loads of women my height are simply too short.

TinyTerror1 · 10/05/2018 11:00

I also have the straight-leg ones from JoJo Maman Bebé and they are about as loose as bootcuts, really comfortable and I am basically living in them. I bought some from RedHerring and some from Mothercare and neither pair fit right so I had to send them back.

Other than that I have a pair of jeggings (my first ever) and some leggings that I wear with long tunics.

seeingdots · 10/05/2018 11:39

I lived in my bootcuts from Jojo Maman Bebe. So comfy! I think it was these ones:

angelopal · 10/05/2018 11:43

I got some from a website called funum. Also Next should have some.

GummyGoddess · 10/05/2018 12:02

@BlueBug45 I have the opposite body with a long torso and shorter legs, so probably won't do you any good then unfortunately.

BaconCrispsGone · 10/05/2018 14:47

ebay

MeadowHay · 10/05/2018 18:59

I have Topshop Leigh Maternity jeans and they are straight-legged rather than skinny. They are under-bump though. I find them comfy around my legs but for some reason they just don't fit me properly around the waist (well, more like hips I guess as they are under-bump). At first I thought I would grow into them earlier on in my pregnancy but I'm 34 weeks and they still just constantly fall down to right at the bottom of my hips so I can only wear them with like long shirts/tunics which is a pain and I'm constantly hoiking them up. I don't know why as I bought my usual pre-pregnancy jeans size Confused. Got them in the sale though so can't complain too much.
