Early scan @7w, sac is too tight around baby. Anyone had this?

I had an early scan yesterday at 7w+1, after having a very small amount of spotting.
They were more concerned that the sac is small compared to size of baby, and unfortunately this usually results in miscarriage.
But I've read some stories where the gestational sac catches up to the baby and all is ok, has anyone else had this?

Yes,
I had this at 10weeks. Just told to wait 2 weeks and re scan and see if the sac catches up. It did... DS is happy and healthy.
Try not to stress (I know it's not easy to do)!

PonyPals thanks for your reply. Did you do anything that you think made a difference in the two weeks? Bed rest, drink lots of water?

I've been told that nothing I can do myself will change the outcome, but would hate to miss something.

I really didn't do anything differently (just googled loads which wasn't the best!)
I did find an article that said in most cases it catches up and all is fine.
I tried to think positively and not stress but that's about it!
Hang in there. I feel everything will go well for you Smile

Thank you PonyPals, I have also googled the hell out of it. I know it's just a waiting game now. Trying to stay positive and relax. Fingers and toes crossed for 2 weeks.

How are you going? Not long left now to check on the baby.

gemwhitt · 14/05/2018 16:53

Thanks PonyPals, I'm actually doing ok. Haven't had any bleeding/cramping which is good. Although I've been preparing myself for the worst, based on how the nurse reacted.

Had to talk myself out of going for a private scan. It would be a double blow to have to pay almost £100 to be told the pregnancy isn't viable.

Just have to hang on for 7 more days to find out what's going to happen.

Have stopped googling for success stories, to save my sanity!

That's great to hear that there hasn't been any more bleeding. I think it is a very good sign.

Hopefully the week will fly by really fast!

How did you go?
