Due in 2 days!
Been in early labour since Sunday though. Baby is back to back which is why it's taking longer for labour to fully establish 😣 ds1 was back2back and labour was awful, eventually needed help delivering with forceps so I'm trying my hardest to get this baby to turn! Wish me luck

Natasha92 · 09/05/2018 10:17

Good luck!!! :)
So could be anytime now Smile Hope it goes easy for you..
How are your contractions now are they more like period pains?

OP posts:
MrsG95 · 09/05/2018 10:35

Thank you!
Yeah, mostly in bump which is why I was surprised that he's b2b, ds1's contractions were all in my back. They come regularly (every 6-7 minutes) for a few hours then slow down to every 13-15 minutesfor an hour or two.
But yes, mostly period like pain. Can be very intense at times though

Cosmoa · 09/05/2018 10:43

Helloo! Yes I'm due on May 21st so in about 12 days! Also with my first Smile

Reckon I might go a little earlier but that's probably wishful thinking.. Baby girls head is engaged though and happily wiggling away! Only thing left to buy is those big maternity pads that I keep reading about Confused

I'm so excited for labour to start... It's a strange feeling to be wishing for cramps and pains haha!

Cosmoa · 09/05/2018 10:45

@MrsG95 how exciting! Good luck with everything! Flowers

Keep us posted (at your convenience of course)

MrsG95 · 09/05/2018 10:53

Thank you Cosmoa. Here's hoping they give me this sweep tomorrow and that gets things really going!

Natasha92 · 09/05/2018 11:08

@MrsG95 you will have to keep us updated!

@Cosmoa - I keep thinking I will go earlier, every niggle or pain I think 'is this it?' Aww I will find out if heads engaged tomorrow at my midwife.

I've got the maternity pads, they look like mini mattresses Grin the joys!!

I know, I'm excited too but my sister in law who already has 3 kids says to me I'm excited for you but at the same time I'm nervous because of the pain! I just want my baby boy here already!

OP posts:
Cosmoa · 09/05/2018 11:16

@Natasha92 I've only just found out why I'll need them to be so big 😂😭 I doubt I'll care once baby girl has arrived haha!

I'm not too nervous about the pain... I know it's gonna be intense but it'll be totally worth it Grin

I know what you mean about every niggle/pain... It's weird to feel sad about pains disappearing haha!

Natasha92 · 09/05/2018 11:19

@cosmoa I hear ya!! I'm feeling pretty positive aswell I'm trying to have a clear mind and just deal with the pain!

I know.. who would have thought I'd be wishing labour lol!

Have you had any symptoms or signs yet for labour?

OP posts:
Cosmoa · 09/05/2018 12:38

Not really! Not even had any Brixton hicks..

I was just eating a sandwich and suddenly felt sick and got a pain all over my belly! Got excited for a second as I thought it might be something.. But I don't think it was anything!Confused

I've been getting the 'fanny daggers' daily since 33 weeks so she has been thinning my cervix! But that doesn't necessarily mean anything unfortunately.. So hard to not be impatient!

zaalitje · 09/05/2018 14:19

Tentivly joining, just under 3 weeks to go but don't want to count my chickens just yet, still do much that could still go wrong!

Fingers crossed for you all!

Misssmoo · 09/05/2018 14:42

Me in 8 days sickness and diorrhoea today ...3rd baby x

Cheeseandapple · 09/05/2018 14:58

@MrsG95 what's early labour?! And @Cosmoa what are any daggers!? Haha - I've got 3 days till due date, thought I would have heard all the pregnancy terms by now! What a steep learning curve.

I had first braxton hicks last Friday, painless but regular and been having them with some pressure every night since. Last night was the most intense and could really feel them in my bumHmm

Feels like 37 weeks have flew by and since then every day is like a month! Good luck everyone - keep us posted !

Natasha92 · 09/05/2018 15:39

Nice to see a lot of May babies! Exciting!

I'm 37+5, lost what I thought was my mucus plug (no blood) last week over two days.. on Saturday I had diarrhoea with irregular cramps and didn't feel right all day.. and now I'm just having days with so much energy and other days where I could sleep all day, not sure what's going on!

Has anyone been drinking raspberry leaf tea? I've been drinking it from 33 weeks along with eating dates.. let's see if it helps :)

OP posts:
Cosmoa · 09/05/2018 15:46

@Cheeseandapple

Haha fanny daggers is the term that is used for the sharp pains you get down below when the babys head is pressing against your cervix! They aren't fun!

Cosmoa · 09/05/2018 15:48

And I know what you mean about each day feeling like a month!!! It was the fastest year ever until May came along 😭

readysetcake · 09/05/2018 16:41

@cosmoa I’m due on 21st too! Second baby. No twinges or signs yet. Went at 39.4 with my first so I live in hope it won’t be too long. Braxton Hicks are strong so hoping that’s a good sign. Happy to be having a May baby. It’s such a lovely time of year 😊

Redpandamonkey · 09/05/2018 17:01

Hey everyone,

I'm due on the 21 May too. Smile If baby doesn't come by then I've got an induction booked for that day.

I'm not feeling anything but tons of pelvic pressure. Drinking raspberry leaf tea, bouncing on my ball. Super scared about being induced.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to tell if I'm actually in early labour. Hmm

Natasha92 · 09/05/2018 17:10

@redpandamonkey I've been drinking red raspberry leaf tea and bouncing on my ball etc.. exactly the same, I don't think I would know if I'm in early labour..

OP posts:
readysetcake · 09/05/2018 19:18

@Redpandamonkey fingers crossed baby arrives before the 21st then! You’ve both just reminded me to jump on my ball. I tried the tea last time but couldn’t stand it! Might buy clary sage again.

Cheeseandapple · 10/05/2018 09:30

@Natasha92 I couldn't find raspberry leaf tea in sainsburys or Tesco's- where did you get it? I bought a tea that has raspberry leaf in the ingredients so have just been drinking that for now.

@Cosmoa ahhh! I've had fanny daggers and didn't realise! Thought she was head butting my bladder but that makes sense as it feels different. It bloody hurts! Can stop me in my tracks.

Natasha92 · 10/05/2018 09:40

@Cheeseandapple I brought mine from holland and Barrett, it's a company called Heath & Heather, you will definitely find it from there :) x

RosaBaby2 · 10/05/2018 10:22

I’m 5 days overdue now and have induction booked for the 18th. Keep getting pains but nothing regular and it’s been for a week or so. I’m fully expecting that I won’t go in to spontaneous labour as didn’t with my first either (10 years ago)

Finding it hard to walk far due to constant need for the toilet and fanny daggers too 😂

Cosmoa · 10/05/2018 10:24

Ahh nice they there are a few of you due the same day!

I've been using my ball and eating pineapple.. Didn't know about the tea! I've heard nipples stimulation helps to induce labour but you have to do it for like an hour at a time and I always give up after 5 mins 😂

Definitely don't want to be induced either! My Mum and sister didn't ever go over their due date. I know I'm not them but I'm hoping that it counts for something!

Keep me posted ladies.. And don't go into labour before me hahaha! Kidding 😛
